  thus a distinction was made between the blood of such animals and that of animals that a person slaughtered for food.

  {compare le 17:14-16} the israelites, as well as alien residents who took up true worship and came under the law covenant, were obligated to live up to the lofty requirements of that law.

  is included in the Christian commandments such as abstaining from idolatry and such.

  thinking of having a bible study

  what do you think would happen if someone where to have a bible study with the sole purpose of asking lots of awkward questions just to get the reaction of the witnesses?

  As a JW I would study with any person using only the Bible (several versions) and Hebrew and Greek Lexicons. Using this method i wouild prove all major JW teachings are strickly from the Bible eg no trinity, no hellfire, no imortal soul, the reserectiion, why Jesus came to earth, why God permits the trouble we see today, what Gods purpose is for the earth, etc

  I do that too.

  That way when people say that we have our own bible, I say that we use several.

  Is that all the better that Catholics can do?

  God's Kingdom of a Thosand Years have approached.

  is this issue of the watchtower being part of the un department of public information of any significance?

  at the district conventions of jehovahs witnesses there are flags of the united states and other sovereign government such as states or other countries hanging from the buildings.

  the governing body and the watchtower society rent buildings which become the equivalent of kingdom halls for the weekend.

  At the District conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses there are flags of the United States and other sovereign government such as states or other countries hanging from the buildings. The Governing Body and the Watchtower Society rent buildings which become the equivalent of Kingdom Halls for the weekend. Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t find a problem with those flags hanging there. Why is that? To us, they are simply pieces of cloth. Nothing more. We don't honor or look to them beyond that.

  Why would it be any different for this UN DPI thing? The Department of Public Information is simply that - A place to get information. Nothing more. It has nothing to do with support anymore than the flags hanging at the conventions mean that everyone is pledging allegiance to those flags. Because there are forms that needed to fill out does not change those prior statements.

  The next principle to consider is: How does the actions of an individual working at the Watchtower Society affect the organization? It doesn’t. The organization is lead by Jesus Christ through the Governing Body. I don’t recall the governing body having a vote on the matter and then publishing the matter to the organization. So…

  As I said, It is a non-issue.

  1 Cor. 12:27-31: " Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way."

  Eph. 4:11: ;" The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,"

  If you actually read the bible, you would know that Jesus gave the commission to preach to the Apostles.

  This is not Jesus talking here. This is Paul's admonition to the elders. It is stating that not all will be teachers within the congregation. The commision to teach in the congregation was given to the apostles and then the elders. But the scripture you cite is time specific since it speaks of the gifts that will cease.

  During the 'Support the Slave' talk at the DC, the speaker, after extolling the virtues of the FDS and GB, how they have taught us the truth about various biblical teachings etc., tagged on this rhetorical question: "Without ;a clear lead from the Governing Body, would we be as motivated in preaching the good news?" I thought, Do you really know what you are implying here?

  Well, the Baptists are not preaching and their numbers are dwindling.

  But they are not preaching the good news. The are merely asking people if they are going to heaven.

  So you go to the assembly and talk like that? I'd like to talk to these naysayers at the assemblies.

  But hey, they only come here.

  If you actually read the bible, you would know that Jesus gave the commission to preach to the Apostles.

  If that is true, then how would Matt 24:14 get fulfilled since the apostles would have died off prior to the last days?

  And if the commission was given to the apostles only, then there would be no preaching when they died off.

  That is the problem, back then they thought like you did and the preaching stopped.

  when we see news reports of jehovahs witnesses who are reported to have done something bad, what do we think?

  sometimes people ridicule us for that.

  obey and become his special property, disobey and be rejected.

  Just a thought that occurred to me while reading this thread. Wonder if he/she is counting this as part of their "time?"

  Isn't if funny how you people always go back to that? That and the thing about "You shouldn't be here".
