Golden-Age April 13, 1932

Charles
recently i had the pleasure to examine a stash of 1920s and 1930s golden age magazines, among the rarest of watchtower publications.
i thought it would be a fun idea to have a thread in which i share with you some of the amazing, ridiculous, hilarious things contained therein.
hence, this is the first post of a series of excerpts, scans, etc.

i remember seeing a picture of the 7 messengers to the church (st paul to russell) from the keratol edition of the finished mystery.
anyone know what page that was on?
or can someone post it here?
It was from the pocket edition of the Finished Mistery, you can find a bad scan and others pictures from this edition here: http://www.tj-encyclopedie.org/Le_Myst%C3%A8re_Accompli Bye Charles

seeing as i have the wt in front of me today, i thought you'd enjoy the questions from readers from the february 15, 2007 article on the evils and pagan origins on toasting or clinking of glasses.
the article specifically mentions how not everything today that was of pagan origin is necessarily bad, and sites "wedding rings" as being of pagan origin, but it's not viewed like that now.
then, incredibly, they go on and say that while toasting might not be considered a religious practice today, there's "good reason" for christians to avoid it------without giving any valid reason why other than: do as we say:.
I think that some french's JW teacher will ask themselves some question after reading this article. In a special meeting in France in 1997, only for JW working with children, including all the JW teacher, Guy Canonici, himself, one of the head of the JW in France, said that toasting was a matter of conscience.

http://www.osce.org/odihr/16533.html.
so, you say that jehovah's witnesses aren't "political" or take any part in the affairs of the world?
http://www.osce.org/documents/odihr/2006/10/21654_en.pdf what does the watchtower say about "political" involvement?
If you tape "jehovah" in the search engine of the OSCE website , you will see that JW were here to complain about religious politic of Russia, Kazhakstan and France.
Look at their statement for France for example.

1935 saw the brief attempt by jehovah's witnesses to adopt a new calendar freed from any connection to other religions or with names derived from paganism.
the 1935 yearbook published without much explanation a chart showing "jehovah's year of ransom 1903.
" the yearbook said: "a series of articles in explanation will appear in the golden age.
thanks cabasilas for the two others Golden-Age !!!
