i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.
My first trips to the AH, they served chicken breast, potatoes and corn - that was good! I loved the danish too, but I always brought my own Dunkin' Donuts coffee, couldn't stand their swill. I guess that was before the came down on bringing in fast food stuff.

did people make fun of you when you were a jw, or were you on top of the situation, and knew what to say to shut them up and make them feel stupid or without faith?
I got more ridicule from my non-JW family. My mom had studied when I was in elementary school and middle school, but when I became a dub, my mom would then say "YOUR friends were here." Never mind the years SHE spent with them!

Do they go to the different islands to pick up the dubs? I guess it would be hard to fade from the borg when the kingdom hall comes to pick you up!

i stumbled across this while searching on a totally different topic.. read through the transcript of the town council meeting.
the questions asked and the dorkiness of the 'brothers' testifying is hilarious.
someone should create this as a template for anyone wanting to resist kingdumb halls being built in their communities.
One of the town officials had a good point: They can't tell the owner who he can sell to. I wonder why the owner wasn't present to help the dubs with their application? If this is such a prime piece of real estate, maybe he can get a better offer?

i have a strong reason to believe that the change that will be announced in next few days among jehovah's witnesses will bring a major "refining" work among its members.
take a note of this:
if are not regular in meetings and service of field than you're signalling that you're no longer a jehovah's witness.
I don't think they will enforce this. My old cong had a number of elderly that couldn't make it to the meetings, it had nothing to do with their desire to be there. I agree also, that the borg wouldn't be able to handle the decline in numbers from such a move. They would need to offset this by some other means, like the Mormons: baptizing the dead or something!

for me, i think it's their hypocrisy.
they lead (the vast majority) a double life.
and ultimately they look down on anyone not a jw yet they won't even wn up to it.
I hated how they told me to treat my non-JW family, and that I believed them. I hated how my parents viewed me at that time. I hated seeing families in my former cong torn apart by shunning. I am so happy to be out, to be free ...

He's in the army doing a second tour, is divorcing his wife and and has a newborn with a girlfriend....
