  they want to see where the money is going and since the governinng body is the head part of the faithful and discrete slave they should humbly and willingly comply in the intrests of christian unity.

  what if someone started a champiagn like that were they sent emails and letter to circulate throughout the entire brotherhood.

  Many people would be by the amount of money they have. Personally I've always wanted to know who is making how many long distance calls for personal fun at the kh because the accounts reports never were the same. And how is it that the building has higher utilities than my house though its not occupied as much and is virtually the same size.

  One recent thing recently is in Brooklyn the Society won the right to rezone certain buildings. It of course increases thier dollar value should they decide to sell.

  My trip for surgery, being force-fed the "Draw Close to Jehovah" tapes

  i had to travel to a town 2 hours away from where i live yesterday.

  i'm thankful that my mother actually came to drive me there and back and was supportive in that regard.. however, she insisted on playing her "draw close to jehovah" tapes all the way there and all the way back!

  i obliged (with my blood pressure through the roof by the time we got there - thank goodness i was on pain pills all the way home).

  Is it not true that the Awake is going monthy in 2006? Mom didn't seem to be aware of this.

  Yes it's completely true, and I've heard that the new awakes while still around will become more "bible based" as opposed to covering other topics like they have in the past, so its mini watchtower.

  Btw anytime in the vehicle for any duration with the rents I have a cd player and headphones, and will doze off otherwise.

  one of matt's friends got me a furby over the weekend off of ebay.

  i wanted one as soon as i remembered a jdub telling me that they were forbidden...i never knew why...does anyone know?

  i played with it all day monday...i couldn't find any reason why the jdubs would ban them.... .

  THEY ARE A NON-ISSUE...and they and their "message" is DEAD.

  When will they realize it?

  Do you want a real answer to that or is it for emphasis that they won't?

  I remember one year there was a man waiting on horseback in sackcloth outside the site. Should have heard the banter.

  Btw there will be one in Rochestor Mini-Soda this weekend. I'm there. Last one for me. Hoorah. I'm still debating on wearing something moderately cleavage revealing with a "just above the knee" skirt" and fishnets. LOL.

  so i have seen many anti experience threads etc.

  my father (a jw elder) has had several businesses for a number of years.

  (thanks dad i'll follow your example really well and become an excellent business person.

  It def goes both ways bad employers and employees. In all fairness my father who is a jw employer tried to treat them all fairly, thats not saying the direct supervisors did.

  As for: My husband and I are in the process of opening a small retail business and I so do not want to have to hire any jws. Isn't it legal to discriminate based on one's religion? I hope to be able to screen people discreetly so as not to get into to any trouble about this.

  The simplest way to get around that is make sure they'd have to work meeting nights or something, require working of hours jws hate, that should make them self screen and not take it or corrupt thier spirtituality

  Btw it could be considered spiritual harassment if a jw boss witnesses to an employe, so if an employee were to be caught witnessing on property you could bring up discrimination to those of other faiths I imagine.

  i must admit that the social pressure was a large factor in my exiting.

  though it was hell at the time i'd rather that than life as as dub now.

  Welcome urbanized.

  I was the baby in my family so whenever I was bullied for being a dub my siblings disposed of the problem for me.

  I do remember worldly kids being jealous that I got to skip out of school early (though it was for service grrrrrrrr) often.

  In my school there was also a large posse of witness kids in my grade alone, so that made it much easier too

  I had to res this post because all, it is and was about me.

  For being in a f'd place in my life and listening to the advice of my dub parents I stayed with him longer than I should have.

  The process began a year ago-and as of 1/31/2005 it was officially done.

  Best thing I ever did for myself, and a major learning experience.

  Joanna's blunt honesty did help, because I needed to hear that from someone, even though I chose to ignore the red flags because no one else in my life would tell me.

  The most ironic part of it all, after having them tell me not to take divorce lightly was to have my mom say: You could have told us how hard it was a year ago and divorced him then.

  Thanks mom, I like to keep private life private, and thanks for the reverse psychology especially after making me feel guilty as anything for it.

  My life now, divorced, happy, exiting the org for good this time around. And absolutely ecstatic to have support from people like Joanna.

  Thank you for not giving up on me when everyone else did.

  How many of you consider yourselves Pagan?

  i've started on a path that is very comfortable for me almost a year ago.

  and now i'm wanting to see how many believe a similar way.. i looked into wiccan, celtic, eclectic and other forms of pagan.

  i think that i've settled down into shamanism since that was the path my grandfather went.

  One last thing. I have stated this before but I believe that people need to be careful what path they choose. Tickling the ego is not a solid reason to inquire into the under world of the spirit.

  I couldn't agree more, though sometimes that path chooses us.
