  my father (a jw elder) has had several businesses for a number of years.

  (thanks dad i'll follow your example really well and become an excellent business person.

  Going to hell... twice.

  i just wanted to start this thread to vent out about how i'm being forced to go to the district assembly convention bullcrap twice all 3 days and to get a little advice on how to get out of it.

  but mainly it would be interesting to know how other people got out of going to the meetings.

  like acting sick, falling down and scraping your knee, different ways you got out of going to it.

  Women must cover their heads when helping men to make sense of this form.

  May I use a diaper as a head covering? Seriously some women were counseled for doing just that.

  And I'm presently going to meetings and don't want to think to answer these, so my open eyed sleep sessions are working.

  jehovah's witnesses demand complete opening of finacial records to public!

  they want to see where the money is going and since the governinng body is the head part of the faithful and discrete slave they should humbly and willingly comply in the intrests of christian unity.

  what if someone started a champiagn like that were they sent emails and letter to circulate throughout the entire brotherhood.

  This Grrr! Column Is About Forgiveness

  I know it's easier to say than to do, but as terrorists are busy blowing up innocent civilians who pay their taxes, work hard to provide for their families, thrive on freedom and love their fellow men, it's time to look at the person who has hurt you the most in your life — and forgive them their trespass against you.

  I'm not talking about the lower-than-life terrorists here. They can burn in hell for all I care. And I'm not talking about the Oblivions who are the source of daily Grrrs — they'll never go away.

  I'm talking about the husband or wife whose eye wandered too far one night. I'm talking about the father or mother who disowned their child because they married the "wrong" person or have the "wrong" political or religious beliefs. I'm talking about sisters and brothers and the college roommates who haven't spoken to each other for years and can't even remember why.

  It's high time we remember where we came from and who helped us get from there to here.

  Each and every one of us in America is lucky to be in a country where freedom is a given.

  Sure, things aren't always grand. We question our leadership at times. We question our lives' paths at times. But at least we have the freedom to choose those paths.

  And right now, the path to healing whatever ails you is to forgive, and to love your family, your closest friends, your co-workers and your neighbors.

  With that choice you will find peace within. It's really that simple.

  You can even start this process by focusing on the thing that worries you the most.

  Is it credit card debt that keeps you up at night? Believe it or not, financial freedom will do wonders for your health.

  Is it the bottle of wine that you can't seem to avoid? Cutting down on alcohol, and on eating for the sake of eating, will not only help you feel better physically, it will also help you feel better about yourself.

  I don't mean to sound preachy, but I noticed recently that most of the problems I have with my life have to do with me, and only me. I can choose to love unconditionally, or I can choose to nitpick all the way to my grave.

  I choose the former from now on.

  But that doesn't mean I'll stop Grrring the little things that drive us nuts day in and day out. The little things are fun.

  It's the big things that are hard to deal with, and that need the most attention.

  I just thought it had some really good points, some things that the lack of real love by forcing family members to choose between being stuck somewhere they don't wish to be or having a relationship with family.

  And especially for those of us who were raised as witnesses, but who had parents who became them by choice, they got the opportunity to choose, why should we be penalized for wanting the same?

  what was the deal with furbies?

  one of matt's friends got me a furby over the weekend off of ebay.

  i wanted one as soon as i remembered a jdub telling me that they were forbidden...i never knew why...does anyone know?

  i played with it all day monday...i couldn't find any reason why the jdubs would ban them.... .

  Many people would be by the amount of money they have. Personally I've always wanted to know who is making how many long distance calls for personal fun at the kh because the accounts reports never were the same. And how is it that the building has higher utilities than my house though its not occupied as much and is virtually the same size.

  One recent thing recently is in Brooklyn the Society won the right to rezone certain buildings. It of course increases thier dollar value should they decide to sell.

  My trip for surgery, being force-fed the "Draw Close to Jehovah" tapes

  i had to travel to a town 2 hours away from where i live yesterday.

  i'm thankful that my mother actually came to drive me there and back and was supportive in that regard.. however, she insisted on playing her "draw close to jehovah" tapes all the way there and all the way back!

  i obliged (with my blood pressure through the roof by the time we got there - thank goodness i was on pain pills all the way home).

  Is it not true that the Awake is going monthy in 2006? Mom didn't seem to be aware of this.

  Yes it's completely true, and I've heard that the new awakes while still around will become more "bible based" as opposed to covering other topics like they have in the past, so its mini watchtower.

  Btw anytime in the vehicle for any duration with the rents I have a cd player and headphones, and will doze off otherwise.
