Are there benefits to DAing Yourself?
by zenpunk ini've been away from this board for a really long time, since then i've made huge progress in my recovery from life in the jw world thanks to some professional help.
now i am at the point where i just don't want to be anywhere near anyone remotely associated with the organization.
my parents no longer speak to my husband and i, but when i do have to interact with my jw inlaws i feel incredibly sick.

Another 607 / 587 BCE question, How do JW's fix the 20 years ??
by run dont walk inok, since all the evidence and people/scholars etc, all agree that jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 bce and not 607 bce.
how do the jw's get the extra 20 years, i understand the 2520 years and going back from 1914. but alot of the proof goes by adding up the kings reigns, and it gets you to the 587/586 date, do jw's simply add on a few years for each king, or is their a mystery king that ruled for 20 years that only they know about.. hhhhhhmmmmmmm.

Thank you all for responding. I guess your right that the public wouldn't care, but we do have a part in our local news paper called "Letters to the editor" where anyone can submit any form they want. If I can can up with some easy to understand wording I will put it in. If any can think of something let me know.

Welcome! I am new here as well. I f you think the change of the 1914 date is something, you ought to read 'Raymond Franz's' two books called "Crisis Of Conscience" and "In Search Of Christian Freedom". They are real eye openers. Raymond Franz used to be on of the Governing Body. Thanks Yvonne

I was not disfellowshipped. I disassociated myself last month because of many things but the clincher being the Society's involement with the UN and the 607 vs 587 date. My story of the elders vistit is on my profile (I think this is a new site for me, so I'm not sure). By the way how does one put a post on here anyway( it's probably right in front of my face so I will feel like an idiot when I do see it). Thanks Yvonne

He exposes them for what they are, nothing but an organization FULL of false prophesy's and a brainwashing cult, who control EVERY aspect of your life. I disassociated myself last month after I learned of the "hypocrisy" of the Society's involvement with the UN ( which blew me away). Then I learned of the false date of 607 B.C.E ( again it blew me away). That's when I started going on the 'apostate' pages and found out many many more things about them, then I biught the two books mentioned earlier ( which really helped me). I hope for your sake you will heed this warning so that you can save yourself alot of pain in your life. If you mention that you where on these pages you will be told to stay away from them that what we say are 'all lies', but they are not. They don't want you on them because WE have the TRUTH about THEM and ANYTHING we say CAN BE PROVED!!! I just left the Society last month and read all his first book and I am through about half of his second. They are GREAT! Anyway I found a web site that had Peter Gregerson as one of the board members on it so I e-mail him and he forwarded it to Raymond Franz and he (Raymond Franz)got back to me.
