Welcome, Hit the wrong button, shows you how new I am as well. So sorry about the pain you felt as a young one, JWs love to put their young ones on a guilt trip. In many cases they have some of the best kids but they run them down till they feel like they have no value and are worthless. Those who are in a position of authority become very suspcious about other people's kids and are quick to judgment and to think that a child has a bad motive. Most of the time they are just full energy and want to live life, a real threat to old cranky brothers and sisters. By the way, I can relate to many of those feelings you had, I was 3 when my mother started studying. OC |

Another Warning From God
by Kenneson inthe message remains the same.
reform your lives or be chastised.
from the comments i have read about god's supposed non-existence in this forum, it seems that we will only learn the hard way.

Speak out as loudly as you can, silence is not your way; however,... My point is that you are in the same category as super zealous super right christians, or muslims or any other religion that love to condem others to death. This interest you have in others being punished shows you to have violent side just as those in the middle ages took great delight in bringing about punishment to those who they percieved did not meet their righteous standards. They tortured and burned people to death. Perhaps you can learn more from them, they all thought they were Christian and righteous.
What is so funny about people like you, is that you need the most forgivness from God.

Hey, I'm in your boat, still in an wondering how to get out.
I don't post often but read everyday. I look for Newbie's and enjoy all their comments and how they came to the realization that we have all been sold down the river.
Welcome
by the way, what did you think about this weeks Watchtower, some how I made it through without letting out a loud sigh. LOL
Take care and I will look for your future comments.

yea, yea You sound like a prophet, and what do you really know? Nothing
You are like everyone else in this world who has religion, you have sense you are right and nobody else has any awareness.
Will God bring about a change? We pray that he will? Perhaps the biggest change will be to quiet those who feel they speak for him.
Nice try

Buck,
Once you take the plung you will be forever under their scrutiny. If you are having doubts you should seriously consider that the right thing is not to marry this woman. You will hurt her and she will in turn make your life misareble, not to mention the mental pain the family will put you through.
Think about it.

The CO did not mention the site, but the inference was that all such sites were bad and not to be looked at. The theme of staying far away from apostates is the proper course for all faithful witnesses. I agree with many who have posted and indicated that there is more of a push to stop the flow towards viewing such things. This message is loud and clear. I have been viewing this site and others for some time. But, I really do think that there is alot more being said about it. The lack of love within the organization has always bothered me, I was fortunate to have found a small congregation that valued me as a person, so for many years I did not see or want to see this pervasive lack of love. The issue of 1914 just cemented the idea for me that this religion is not any more connected to God than any other. Just different rules and different theology. I believe that there are many good things this religion provides for their people, but perhaps at the expense of others. A belief system is good for most, not sure what I have now, I suppose that will be a work in progress for the future.

My history,
47 years doing the JW thing from the age of 3.
Many good times and many times I thought I was worthless especially as a teenager. Couldn't be good enough to please some elders. I remember laying in bed after graduating high school wandering what I was suppose to do. Bethel would have gotten me out of the house but at the time, if you couldn't last 4 years you were worthless. Perhaps some of your former JWs from my time period would recall that. So I moved in with a friend and found that I could be a good JW after all. But years later I started having many conflicts and thoughts. When they changed their interpertation of 1914 this created many conflicting thoughts to go through my head.
Anyway, just wanted to drop by and say hello.
