New Light - ?
by ocsrf injanuary 15, 2008 watchtower, page 23 paragraph 16. it seems, however, that not all who have been called to a heavenly hope since the 1930's are replacements for ones who have fallen away.
jehovah has evidently made sure that we will have anointed christians amoung us all through the final days of this system of things until the destruction of "babylon the great.

News about the end at the yearly business meeting
by ocsrf inthat's right folks, the fds in convinced that we are so deep into the end of the system of things they feel it will happen at any moment.. it's funny that this should be taken serious since this sort of thing has been said many times in the past.
however, many of those at that meeting are so drawn in that they believe it as if they saw god himself speak it.. this came from someone who attended, perhaps someone else has direct quotes or other tidbits they can share with us.

DC, all but gave directions to the JWD site
by ocsrf in.
i found the dc very interesting this year do to my reading of this site.
i took note that the danger of the internet was menitioned no less than three times, once with a demonstration showing a brother who found a site by a innocent search of the web on a jw subject to the very last talk, concluding remarks and final "resolution" that consisted of 10 items with number 10 staying away from dangerous sites and chat rooms.. makes you wonder what the real story is behind that much attention being given to this problem iof theirs.. oc

Elephant in the room: Silence and Denial in everyday life. By:E. Zerubavel
by ocsrf ini have not yet read this book but heard of it and about it on npr radio today.
i think this pretty much sizes up the situation amoung today's jws.. the theme has to do with a "secret" which really is not a "secret".
in fact it is known by all but not discussed, kept silent.

Apostates are organized, all in one group
by ocsrf inthis is a perception that many have who are faithful jws.
i have to admit this of course was my feeling at one time.
only after being part of this forum do you realize that so called apostates are just people with only one thing in common and that is they feel misled by the organization and have a differing opinion which is never, ever allowed to be voiced without being condsidered apostate.

by ocsrf in.
this is the official line that was given.
i did not hear this myself from a speaker but got it second hand, and those who are faithful believe it.. so far 350 have been asked to leave, one couple with as much as 30 years full time service with most of it at bethel.. oc

Minimum wage for all JWs
by ocsrf in.
perhaps ex jws should bring a case against the organization asking for back wages, if they are a corp. for profit they would be required to pay all us citizens $6.15 per hour even though they are sales people.
the society collects time sheets every week so there is a record of how much each preacher (salesman) (employee) should get paid.. the us government might bring the case for the poor jws, because they are very much interested in all employees being fairly compensated for work rendered.. i would think at the very least the society would have to open all their financial records and account for all monies spent to prove they are a non-profit organization.. oc
