  For those with bf or gf who are JW's: How the JW view non JW's

  this thread is a quick primer for those who are fairly unfamiliar with the jw, but have found that they are dating someone who is or used to be a jw.

  well just to give you a little background on how jw's view the rest of the non-jw world: they basically see you as a bug.

  you are worldly and certain to bring their loved one death at the hands of god at armageddon.

  al join you!!!!! pretty much same situation although me and my bf were friends for a while before he found the troof but only a couple during.....we have split up a few times as he has had to choose me or jehovah but we just cant seem to stay apart!!! lately he hasnt been attending the meetings as he is working alot to treat me to a hol for my birthday as he says its more important!!?? doesnt sound very j.w like so maybe things are looking up for us but not going to get my hopes up or anything.....ive also been subtley putting across some of the questions in this thread so thanks to all that contributed!!!

  also while he was staying at mine last week(its also a long distance relationship to make things even more complicated!!!) we went to the sunday meeting in my area...can i say what a load of s**** i tell u if it wasnt for the love of my b.f and respecting him i would have gladly clobbered the elder with my bag!!!! he obv didnt know there were any worldly peeps in the room and he said that we were all clueless clones of each other and he told everyone to be aware of those with beautiful eyes as its satan trying to draw you into temptation!!! i felt sorry for all the children at the meetings i mean they dont have a say what religion they are brought up in!!!! poor things...one boy cried for the whole service...he had the right idea!!

  haha had quite a gigglw with that statment with my b.f as even he saw it as wildly unreasonable and he has always said whenever he looks into my eyes its like i cast a spell on him!!!! so im satan now am i? hehe

  also is there fact behind there teachings?.

  did you ever feel left out at this festive season and what did you think of others that celebrated?

  thanks or the replies everyone,im so happy that you can celebrate and enjoy the festive period...i have so many fond memories that your children will grow up to have and pass onto their children!!!! just today i went with my mum to get our tree...its tradition that we go to delamere forest always has been....and i felt about 5 years old all exited trying to find the perfect tree!!! even the guys who wprk for the forestry commission were full of xmas cheer!!!

  this question was the source of many arguments btween me and my ex...as usual he had an answer for everthing an i was left feeling like a bad person and that my christmas was phony and fake!!! so i just want a few other peoples perspectives if you dont mind because when i visit this site and hear peoples stories i guess it gives me hope that j.w isnt the only religion and one day he may find his way out!!! also because i feel sane here!!!!

  did you ever feel left out at this festive season and what did you think of others that celebrated?(i.e worldly friends, relatives, spouses.)

  and if you have now found the real truth about the truth..do you celebrate christmas and why?

  got this email from my mother the other day... this is just the "witness" part... i sent my brother a letter the other day after we had a big fight you can read that here.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/98316/1.ashx.

  just fyi, no need to reply because i know it will not make a difference to you but last night at the study ******** got so choked up about you that he could not finish for crying.

  you don't realize how much he loves you.

  its starting to make more sense now!!!

  my now ex BF never saw our relationship as a problem and would constantly reassure me that nothing would come between us until suddenly he ended it sayin he couldnt progress spiritually while involved with moi!!!! I had thought that they would probably start out lightly and then as you get more involved they become really heavy!!! hes even stopped playing his guitar as he thinks he will getta better standing before god if he gets rid of everything in his life he loves so he can love jehovah with all his heart!!! crazy i know!!!

  I just hope he realises soon and sees it for what i do!!

  its so crazy!!!!

  i was wondering...when you start to study do they tell you things like that you will have to sever all contact with non members etc and also that if people dont believe us then they are against us?

  the october 15th botchtower study article is, not so surprisingly, very negative and down on any parents that are encouraging their children to go to university.

  arggg!!!!! this is the kind of thing that makes me soooo angry....i myself am in higher education and im having the time of my life as well as learning some very valuable skills that will hopefully secure me a career in art and fashion,

  my now ex-boyf showed a profound interest in art and was considering studying it and even did a portrait of me!!!! since returning from a fortnight away with family he has ended our relationship and decided that education isnt for him!!

  Is the whole J.W cult thing based on fear?

  i need alittle help finding a wt article, i believe it's a 1969 article about education and the jist of it about how you shouldn't go to school cause by the time you're done armageddon will have already come, something to that effect.

  aw thanks dams....to be honest i think a part of him is studying just to prove something to his family as they are all dubs and his younger bro and sis are pioneers!!!and as he had never followed it they have always told him he's a failure so maybe hes just trying to show them he can do it!!! nice loving family i know!!!
