  Mom is gone

  i'm not much of a poster here, but the passing of my mom on friday is as good a reason as any.. she was in deep, no doubt will be refered to as "faithful to the end" by those who eulogize her.

  this new chapter in my life of course has me is a reflecive mood.

  i'm sure when she was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago that her hope was that the "new system" would come before she succumbed.

  My deepest sympathy to you. I lost my mom too. I miss her everyday. She was not a JW but she put up with me getting into it and respected my decisions. I only wish she were here not to see my OUT!! I have not doubt you will see her again in a better place. And you will see a part of her in your new grandchild! x0

  My JW mother passed away

  so much has happen over the pass years since i posted on this forum.

  three years ago i posted my first topic about my mother, she passed away recently.

  it still hurts to lose a mother, someone who gave you birth and raised you the best she could.

  My neice died this morning

  my neice who had cancer died at 3:00 a.m. my sister just called and told me.

  so i have been here for 8 years.

  i have one person whom i knew from my past i met here, but we are just starting to have a relationship.

  i hear how many here have people from here call them, pm them, etc,,,so what do i have to do to create these relationships.

  Hey, fellow Canadian...I don't post all that often but I have shared my story privately with some on the board. Some I have met in person. This is the only place that I know that I can come to where people understand exactly what I go through in my life and just where my thoughts are. I DA myself three years ago. Just take a step and give a little of yourself away. There are so many great people on this board. They have all been where we have been! Take care..x0

  Funny things you thought growing up -

  1. a "shower" as in "baby shower" or "wedding shower" was when a bunch of people got together to take a shower together.

  which didn't go over well with me when my mom wanted to go to a shower without my dad.. 2. when my father said to my mom that he was going to marry somebody, as in do there vows or something, i thought he was going to marry somebody else and start another family.

  i almost fainted when he told me that he was leaving to go do that.

  This thread is sooooooooo funny.. I am laughing crying... Thanks.. When my son was little and the seat belt law was just coming into effect here I would tell him,"Put your belt on or you will go flying out the window... He told me years later that he thought he would actually "fly" out the window. One time I was getting him ready to go out and I said to him," you are a wreck" and he said, "you mean like a rectangle??? I never forgot that. When I was a teenager, the signs on cars in a car lot would read 5600. and I thought the car was only fifty six dollars..Brain dead or what???? I once thought my sister's freckle removing creme would remove more of my freckles if I put more on my face so I lathered it on...after a few days of this areas on my face just dried up and flaked off and I had big patches of white on my face...

  We had a guy..he was df for awhile.. rumor had it that he was cheating his workplace but who knows.. later he was reinstated..He wife and two young sons were not well mentally. At our BS the kids would rock back and forth for the hour..he would give them a smack and they would rock more.. He was 30 years older than her.. she met him thru his daughter when she was a teen. He was a real nut. She worked with my husband for awhile and he would come into the store and say.. WOMAN, its time for lunch.. ..he always just called her Woman!.. a few years later he was arrested for sexual touching of a minor under 14...and spent time in jail.. she ended up in the mental ward of the hosp..and is kind of a zombie now. After his arrest, one of my friend's daughter said he used to tell her and other kids to get some candy out of his pocket at the meetings... what a sicko.. I had a young daughter then too and no one"in authority" at the KH ever told me that he was arrested or in jail or anything about what he had done... I saw him at the last memorial that I went too. He looked like he was just fine!!!

  Ian (Dansk) in hospital with CMV

  hi, everyone ---.

  claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.

  the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.
