Elder's School Notes Part 1: Quit being so materialistic, you slackers!
by sir82 inask, and ye shall receive.. i will herewith post my notes from the km06 elders school i recently attended.
i will post this in 6 parts, to give people a chance to read smaller chunks and comment on them.. a couple of introductory notes: i wrote an awful lot of stuff, and will not post everything.
for each talk, i will post 3 sections: (1) general synopsis, (2) personal thoughts & observations, (3) particularly egregious quotations.. the primary speakers, who delivered more than 1/2 of the talks, were a circuit overseer and a guest from brooklyn bethel.. to protect anonymity, we will refer to the sadly inane circuit overseer as brother sico.. and the old-timer lifelong brother from bethel, completely out of touch, as brother bethel-coot.. one more introductory comment: it seems the main points the society wanted to send to elders were:.

Thanks, Cellist, but the memories are always there. I have two strong sons that love me dearly and realize the lies and manipulations that their father put them through. I just wish I had of been a stronger person then but I am free now and I have that peace of mind about my decision about leaving the "cult" so it will all work out in the end. Thank you for you care and concern.

I have never met Glen Howe but fought a custody battle with him in a courtroom in Toronto.....HE LOST big time. My ex had abducted my two small children for six months..I found them with a investogater and got a court order. My ex had gone to court up there and lied to the court saying he didn't know where I was...I was HOME....He was awarded ex parte custody. which was overturned when the judge heard the circumstances. the children were returned to me that very day in the courthouse. My lawyer, Philip Epstein invited us to stay the night with he and his family and treated us royally. He was Jewish!! I never forgot that name, Glen Howe,,,what did he know of me and my children....makes to cry just to think about that sh-- again. I can feel my heart breaking again and my gut is starting to pain. I'll just never get over that.

Chocolate!!! I will search the house for a meager chocolate chip if I need to have it. I just ate a chocolate chip chocolate muffin that I bought for my 6'2" son. I did it because I am really bored and feeling sorry for myself....and because I am addicted to chocolate. I think I shall take my depressed self to bed now and dream of a better day tomorrow....Good Night dear friends!

Mrs Kwin got a job offer, so we're moving.

well, on the weekend she got a job offer from her aunt.
her aunt is starting up a company and needs someone to do just that!

Wow, congrats on the job and move. I am so happy that I got to meet you and your family. I know we will keep in touch. It will be a whole new start for you and Mrs, Kwin and the kids. You won't have to keep looking over your shoulder and wondering if so and so is going to speak to you or not....You can have so much more peace of mind. I vote for Snow White...I get a better impression of you with that avatar. It shouldn't really make a difference but it does. Some of you guys really scare me with your avatars but your posts make me realize that you are not who your picture portrays you to be.

What's The Most Scandalous Thing You've Seen Happen In A Congregation?
by minimus inmany years ago i remember suddenly how the bible study servant who was third in command got removed from his position, and was reproved for having a fling with his bible student who was much younger and very married too.
actually, her husband came in the hall while he was substuting as a watchtower conductor and i was reading and screamed all sorts of profanities to him all the while screaming that he was "f***king his wife"!
when the man told him, "i wanna talk to you", the elder said, "not now".

I think what happened in my old hall with my ex and I caused quite a stir. I haven't the nerves yet to tell the whole story because it is terrible. I need a good counsellor to get it out of me without a breakdown. The second last counsellor I went to tried to hit on me so I pretty well gave up. I remember a brother and his wife were having difficulties and his father, an elder tried to help them. The father ended up leaving with the son's wife. They had two kids after that...Before they got married he came back and tried to get back with his first wife but she was not a very nice "lady" and I think she made life miserable for him so he finally left, married his"daughter-in-law" and lived miserably ever after. They are all still JW"s. Try to twist your head around that!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Legolas!!!! I know how old, I mean young you are but I won't tell anyone. She could pass for 25 any day. She reminds me of a younger Elizabeth Taylor, very beautiful. what a joke, he was abusive and kidnapped the children / put her and the kids though hell......... a real jerk..... and he is the one some poor soul will go to for guidance!

Thanks for all your encouragement. I got through all that crap and I actually feel stronger for getting through that conversation with him. I have learned alot throught this board and I knew enought not to say too much and not to really commit my opinions to him. He is a really nice guy but I know he would have to follow the rules if I had said too much. Thanks again
