Sunday meeting was canceled??

my mother got a call sunday evening from her friend.

she told her that the meeting sunday was canceled because they were expecting the storm??!!

also that since it was canceled for sunday they had the meeting on saturday??!!!

speaking of Mom- I just spoke to her. Here is how it really went down. Friday she got a call from her friend saying the Sunday meeting is canceled. Sunday mom called the time guy and asked if it was really canceled and he said yes.. and we had it on Sat instead. She asked about them not being called and he said that was the job of her book study conductor. --- I said how I don't get why they cancel a meeting for no reason. She said its not for no reason they were expecting bad weather. ?? UUmm. every station on Thur and Fri were saying IF we got anything at all it would be at the most 2 inches of much needed rain. "So.. whats your point?" mom asked. It just doesn't make since mom. -- she changes the subject.... (( i mean.. what about all those talks about how bad other people have it when they have to walk through alligator infested swamps to make it to a meeting , so what trouble could we be having that is keeping us away. ) I guess the answer is the 2% chance of ......... rain!!!!!

I am still trying to call the KH there to ask questions and no answer. Does anyone know the best time to call beside DURING a meeting?

Convention video?

i remember seeing on here, a month or two ago, someone had posted video clips of a district convention.

i wasn't able to access them at the time.

not being a jw, i'm interested in seeing what they are all about.

I went to those links and all said -expired. - I have them on sound but no video. I am really wanting to see a few clips as well.

I tried calling his KH and there was no answer. You could tell dad is not wanting to know more then he does since he asked me " what would you do that for??" re: calling the KH.

Husbands! Smack your wife across the mouth!

great advice received from a close jw relative who we visited last week.

she said that husbands are the head of the family, and if the wife doesn't support him in serving jehovah then he should give her a good smack across the mouth, thats what she deserves.

if only adam had given eve a good smack across the mouth when she proposed eating the fruit, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now!

Something also sick is .. Husband beats you?? you can leave him, however, you can't meet or marry another man and be happy unless you know your ex has slept with someone else. With my ex.. uumm.. he wasn't reachable to ask him if he has had sex since me. And ..really.. he is so nice that he is willing to offer up that info to let me live a happy life.. since he was so keen on making me happy when he was married to me,, right?.So.. what..? God wants me to live out my live as a single mom all alone?

If that statistic is true.. maybe its because women are more about feelings. The feelings of love for everyone.. that everyone is family. That if you do this.. paradise will happen and everyone will be happy. Those are reasons to blindly believe because its a wonderful idea. And.. what else is there.. right?! Once the illusion of pure love and family is broken.. the more likely they start to see cracks.

Maybe men want to believe it too.. but can't completely see past the BS. However ,the POWER men hold in the religion is so great!! If you have a strong hold on it why leave?? Dad was a MS but was asked to step down because of me (what a great way to put guilt on me and build a wall between my dad and myself) because I was df'd and he apparently couldn't control his kids. Since he is out of the 'POWER' loop he was more open to see failure in the group.

btw.. just my opinion on the sub as IF the statistic were true. Not wanting to assume all women / men are to be put in either catagory.

Also that since it was canceled for Sunday they had the meeting on Saturday??!!! My parents were not called of the change so did not get a chance to make it to the meeting. (Yeah!) When my dad told me of this I said " You should call an elder and ask why they didn't make the effort to let EVERYONE know of the change , or to at least find out if its even true" He responds " I don't even want to mess with it.. really I am done " What? .. He is done! He will still fain interest for appearance sake or for my mothers sake but he I am sure in his heart of hearts has realized the REAL TRUTH. *(cleansing breath)* I couldn't be happier. I am sure that I still need to be careful with outwardly in front of them celebrating holidays that I am sure he still has a twinge of belief that are evil. But .. his heart isn't blind anymore!!!!!!

Are the chances of getting DF'd a second time greater than the first?

i don't know if there are any statistics about this, but i wonder if the percentage of those getting disfellowshipped a second time greater than those getting disfellowshipped the first time.. example: if 20% of jw's get disfellowhipped once, out of those who come back and are re instated, will the chances of being once more disfellowshipped be greater than 20%.

--AA-- is right. In my case it was true as well. Even though they claim that once reinstated you have a clean slate and the past is forgotten it is NOT! You can't be repentant if you are getting in trouble for something you have already gotten in trouble for before. It can't be that you need therapy or any help with the problem.. YOU are the problem. YOU put yourself in the pathway of wrongdoing. You are purposly continueing down the wrong path therefore are not repentant and probably should not have been reinstated in the first place so "hurry up lets DF her to cleanse the congregation".

HUGE QUESTION!

i been meaning to figure out the ansewr to this question for like 3 weeks now but been too afraid of course to ask anyone in the congreagtion since my questions tend to be more questionable than a simple inquiry.

anyways a young girl in my hall was announced as "no longer being one of jehovah's wittnesses."??

I have a question that goes along with the new way of announcing. Since they only say ' no longer one of Jehovahs Witness" can you still go talk to them since they aren't Df'd. They are just, worldly and you can still talk to worldly you just shouldn't hang out with them. right?? They can't get on to you right? just for talking to a new worldly person?

do you resent your parents for bringing you into the WTS?

for those born into the wts, do you ever feel resentment towards your folks for forcing this upon you?

i went through a stage of strong resentment and anger, but no longer feel this way.

i think they sincerely believed they were acting in my best interests.

I dont resent them for bringing me up in the WTS however I do resent them now for wedging themselves into my life with little snipits of guilt and pity regarding the WTS. They should realize we are now adults and can make our OWN decisions.

The Stranger (JW) came by JUST NOW!!

i was checking outside about the trash to see if it had been taken out yet and left the door open so i could easily take the trash from inside , out.

as i was in the hall bathroom i hear the doorbell ring.

i peak around the corner wanting to pretend i am not here but alas i forgot to shut the front door.
