Welcome Enosant, this is a great bunch of people and it is growing each day, do not feel alone. I think when you start posting and people reply to you, it will make you feel like you are one of a large amount of people with very similar emotions and experiences. You have alot in common with everyone on this site, you have all been through the same and they have all been in their "first days", and will help guide you. Take what you need ..........

I usually run around tending to the dinner etc,. it can get kinda loud but I am thankful for my family, my mother who lives in suite on our home and my daughter and her hubby and my beautiful grandchildren, Daniel and Daelin.: who live in an apartment downstairs, it is just like the Waltons....... and the dog that barks his head off if someone burps 10 miles away and my husband who works hard and left orders to have dinner at 5 because he had to catch the ferry to the Nova Scotia at 730. He drives a tractor trailer and works long hours and had to catch a boat to get off PEI for NS. I just finished the dishes and it is time for a beer now that I am alone. We are thankful for all the blessings we have and pray for others. This year we give thanks for my best friend of 30 years to be OUT of the jw's. God bless you all....... don't eat too much turkey.!

Describe the WILDEST JW party you ever attended!! no seriously......
by kid-A ini realize this is totally context and culturally dependent, but the old toronto jw youth scene was quite wild during the years 1984-1994. .
one example, a group of about 40 jw kids would go up to a ski resort (usually mount st.louis/moonstone or blue mountain) over the x-mas week-end.
one year we rented out a block of rooms in a resort close to the ski lodge.

Huff,puff..... feels like a treadmill, but we are making progress. Arwen and I visited Legolas yesterday. Arwen did not want to take her own car in case anyone (JW) would see it in the driveway. And she almost ran in the door BUT.......... she wouldn't have done that a couple of weeks ago...... she would not have been there at all, fear of being seen by jws. Legolas has been out for awhile now and doesn't feel intimidated by the group. Arwen is making normal progress, I think. She is not as stressed but is reliving alot of crap that went on when her children were abducted by her ex jw) and housed by jws in other provinces. what a mess, I wish we could find a really good counsilor for her who knows about this cult or to speak to someone in person would be healing. Another babystep I am looking forward to is the writing of THE LETTER, she is working on it but it is has taken alot out of her. We need to take a cruise!!! Get away from it all. Legolas makes great pickles, thanks for them, girl, and it was great to meet ya!

Does it bother you to realize that life is normal for those left behind?
by free2beme inyou know when you leave a religion or a place you worked at for a long time.
you want to feel that perhaps there will be a missing irreplaceable piece, that represents the effort you put into the work.
you know what i talking about, the comment at work of "this place would be lost without me" or in the religion "i am the main person who encourages field service around here.

thought I would add my 2 cents worth here,,,,,,,, never been a jw ....... never wanna be........ BUT when my best bud was taken into this cult.... it left a void in our families. We were all very aware she was now different from the rest of us. and knew she had major pressure on her to "follow the leader." Life was certainly not normal to us when she became a jw and could not join in family activities and forced to raise her children in this cult. BUT we hung on to part of her and lo and behold she got away from the cult.! SO we all felt a void when she "left" our normal life -- but I am sure she was just another number to the jws and they are going about the business of bullying and guilting without her, but I do understand the numbers are shrinking in that hall. Praise the LORD!
