It's more ironic that Scientologists probably don't have a sciene lab.

Yay! I took my first flight lesson yesterday after work. I was so fun and such a great experience. The entire lesson was hands on. The only things I didn't do were the communications and short final approach for landing. It was a beautiful day for flying too. I left out of Van Nuys Airport in LA. Flew out of the valley, over Hollywood to downtown, turned around back towards Century City, then to Malibu, over the mountains to Thousand Oaks, over more hills to Simi Valley, then came back to the valley to land.
Here are two pictures: One of me flying the plane over Simi Valley and the other of my flight path. (the green circle represents the airport)

Gun owners - 3rd party defense of JW?
by asleif_dufansdottir inmy ccw instructor was not very encouraging about 3rd party defense by a ccw holder.
he said that it was not only risky because too often you (the ccw holder) don't know the whole story and you could make a big mistake.
in addition, there's the risk that you could act in defense of a stranger, only to find out the stranger is horrified by you having a gun, and could say something to the cops that screws you over (even if you've acted within the bounds of the law).. given that the society's published attitude about guns as defense, is that christians "reject magic and weapons as tools of protection," how willing would you be to act in defense of a jw that a) you didn't know [you saw them being attacked on the street] or b) you did know?

Obviously most anti-gun people live in urban areas and only hear about the criminals that use guns. What if you were a dairy farmer and every night lost a cow or two to coyotes? "Bad dog! Don't kill my investment" HAHA!! Guns are useful tools. People that think they are only bad are tools.

OMG that was so funny. I love the bus.
It's ironic that if someone did that with Mohammed there would be a world war going on. -

Boston not special? Boston is a great city with lots of US history. The Boston Museum of Fine Art has one of the most diverse collections in the US. Most of the collection is in storage because there is not enough room for display but that means that it is always changing. I can see why it is not special for Europeans though, it is probably the most European of all US cities and everything is old old old (which is rare in LA). Lots of parks, museums, historical sites, shopping. The endless amount of universities and their historical campuses (Harvard, MIT, etc).

My JW mom used to use her gun to defend her JW neighbor against Rattlesnakes that used to curl up like a doormat and scare the poor old woman. Now that my mom lives away from that type of nature, she doesn't own any.

Vegas is probably good for a maximum of 3 days.
The glitz wears out really quickly.
Yeah and your feet. So much walking: (casino, shopping, drink, casino, shopping, drink, dinner, shopping, casino, bar, disco till 6am, breakfast, casino)
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Boston!! So much fun.
You need at least three days in LA because of the traffic! It's not a tourist friendly city as far as transportation is concerned. I think within the next ten years we'll start to see more improvements because the freeways are at their limit.

This may be a little O.T. to the original post, but the artwork inside of one of Marilyn Manson's albums had different members of the band on Tarot Cards. They looked so cool. I wonder if those cards exist somewhere.

THAT.............is the cruelest thing I have ever read on this board.
I agree. I'm sorry to hear that. But talk about self-control. I would have went crazy! They probably would have had to call the police.
