Brief History: My mom found that I have a myspace (forbidden sin) and that I was a member of this group (bigger forbidden sin) so she stopped talking to me for 3 weeks. Today she finally calls all crying and said she spoke with the elders and they feel she should stop talking to me. I told her I'm very happy she's crying because she knows she's making the wrong decision. Of course she insisted she isn't and persisted to cry so I told her I hope she cries everyday for the rest of her life. :-) The deal is, I haven't lived with her for 10 years and in no way have received any financial or material support, and really no emotional support for the tough times (break-ups etc). i told her that she should no longer consider herself a christian because jesus' love is unconditional and hers is. We actually enjoyed a nice relationship the past few years and now she wants to ruin it. I told her I have ever right to be part of this group because I'm 1) GAY and 2) EX JW. DUH!!! To quote cartman: "Whatever! i do what I want!" I still hurts though and I have left a few really pointed messages on her voicemail. That's the nice thing is now I can always state my case on voicemail and don't have to worry about a retort. Has anyone tried to sue JW for emotional damages. My mom of course blames the elders for having her make this decision so therefore it's the organization or at least the congregation that broke the family apart. I'm sure here in California there's a atheist enough attorney that may want to take on the Wild Beast. I do have some allies. My older brother, not a JW, and his son. I'm trying to get my brother to use visitation of her grandson as leverage. He's pissed at her. My dad (mom's ex husband) is already to beat her down. And my step-mother, who has been more of a mother than my mom could ever be is pretty floored. Some witness, eh? Who would want to be a JW when they see what type of f*cked up thinking it causes..... and exhale time for a drink :-)

Anyone Running for President Should have to Pass a Psychological Exam
by frankiespeakin insince the president of the usa has such a responsible position i think it should be manditory for anyone running for the office and that a profile be made public knowledge, if it involves some phobia, or serious insecurity that may make him prone to irrational actions because he can't grasp enough to make a rational decision.

Yay Blondie. The recent changing of the guard reminds me of the early 90's. Everyone used to say "Damn Democrats!!". Then, the last few years everyone was saying "Damn Republicans!!" Let's give it 7 years and everyone will be saying "Damn Democrats!!"

Did anyone see the report on the cult Jesus Christians the other night on Fox 11 LA. These are some crazy people. They hold their own tribunals, inflict punishment (whippings etc), and require their members give a kidney. They made the JWs seem like a nice religion. Part of the story included family members of people in the cult trying to make contact with their members inside. It was sad.
Gotta love sweeps month.

Republicans Changing their Emblem from an Elephant
by Elsewhere ini heard recently that the rnc is changing their emblem from an elephant to a condom since it more clearly represents the party's stance : it stands up to inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks and gives a sense of security while screwing others.. .

That's funny Else-
Welcome to gridlock. Public opinion of Congress was at a all time low before the election wait till nothing gets done and everyone starts blaming and screaming at each other. Any progressive agenda will get vetoed by Bush and anything too conservative will never make it through committee by congress. I'm starting to like this idea.
The thing that may disappoint most of the critics outside of the US is that the Bush and Condi set foreign policy not the house or senate.

Here's my take on this. I work in property management so I hear parking stories all of the time.
It sounds like the faculty member didn't like the car in "their" spot and instead of calling a tow truck which would cost you $$ they decided to be passive aggresive and move the car to give the illusion that it was stolen and hopefully your son would learn not to park there. In the real world, the van would have been towed.
Just this morning I had to put one of those nasty stickers on a car parked in my co-workers reserved space. The person who parked there came up screaming that we vandalized their car. I pointed out that we had a right to cite and could tow the car under the law and also pointed out that there are signs all over the property absolving us of responsibility for any cars or property in our lot. If the school was smart, the school will have plenty of signs in the parking lot regarding the parking rules or at least a list in the student handbook.
To the people who say get a lawyer: Are you kidding me? Moving a car did not cause any emotional, monetary, or physical injury. I would be very weary of any lawyer who would actually take on a case like this. The taxpayers' money was already wasted on the police filling out paperwork and now you want to tie up a courthouse, city attorneys and other resources?

Then I guess Ann Coulter is not fanatical.

this would be fun: Hillary Vs. Condi
Personally I would like to see Guilliani or McCain run on the republican ticket and they would almost certainly beat out whoever was on the dem's ticket but I think the far-right would consider them too liberal. It never pays to be a centrist.
Scariest ticket: Santorum and Katherine Harris.

Congrats.
I don't know, but if I were one of the non-white males selected I would feel wierd because I wasn't selected on merits. It's kind of like an actress sleeping with someone for a job. At the end of the day she thinks to herself, "What is my real talent?"

Totally OT, BUT..
Speaking of "What does the bible really teach?" At work we received a little flyer attached to the Daily News yesterday that said "Learn to read the bible!" It had a picture of the most homely looking woman reading the bible. She had this big white poofy blouse with shoulder pads. I said to my co-worker, "Forget the bible, this woman needs to learn to read a fashion magazine."
hehehe
