Does The "Active Bethelite Sixscreens" Thread Help You Recognize The Watchtower Organization Is "Spying" On You?
by minimus inlet me state that these sensational types of threads are counter-productive, in my humble opinion.
the whole "spying" thing and the cameras and secret recordings in shower stalls and toilets is nutty!.
do these threads help you to see how the organization is wrong?.

Facebook: Local Ruling By Elders in Nearby Congregation
by mentallyfree31 injust heard from a friend that a nearby body of elders in their congregation have decided that anybody who is on facebook will not be able to have privleges in their congregation.. hilarious!.

satanic looking home page, bad web-scripting... all gone!!!.
although i haven't checked the content of the site in all the pages, i must say "kudos to rick" for taking some constructive criticism!.

1967 Wierdest Yearbook experience EVER! Witness silences talking snake!!
by Witness 007 inyearbook 1967 p.105 "a large crowd was following a man who had a talking serpent...the serpent gave greetings and spoke in foreign tongues {college educated no doubt he he}...a brother passing by went into the house, as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking.
the man cried out:"a magican has entered the room!...the brother asked the man: "is that a serpent or a demon that has spoken to you?....not one serpent has spoken except in the garden of eden"...seeing that the serpent remained silent the man left the house...he later was anxious to get some literature...".
how did this stupid experience get passed the bethel bullcrap detector???

Here's the original version of the experience before watchtower editors got ahold of it:
"A large crowd was following a ventriloquist and his pet anaconda to watch their performance.The serpent appeared to give greetings and spoke in foreign tongues. A brother™ passing by went into the house, as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking. The man cried out:"A tasty morsal has entered the room!...the Brother asked the man: "Is that a serpent or a Demon that has spoken to you?....not one serpent has spoken except in the garden of Eden". Now, it was getting close to lunchtime and the anaconda was getting a little hungry, so it coiled around the brother™, squeezed the life out of him, and swallowed him whole. The man, seeing that the brother™ had with him many watchtower and awake magazines that he would, for obvious reasons no longer need, took them to line his new chicken coop."

Could use a little input on freedom of speech with JW relatives.
by nicolaou inhow do you deal with jw relatives who say; "can i just ask you one thing?".
seems obvious that you'd willingly answer their question right?
i mean, it's good that they're asking questions, maybe they're waking up and it might start them on their journey out of the wt.. but.. i've got one real hardcore jw sibling.

Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions
by Uzzah ini am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.
gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.
to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

I can verify my Bethel record both with many known posters here as well as by media reports after my departure.
I can certainly vouch for Uzzah. He came to my congregation sometime in '83 or '84, was in Bethel, and was my book study conductor for a while. He even knew my lovely ex. In all those years, I have never known Uzzah to make a false or misleading statement, and he was always the first to stand up for what he believed was right.

POLL: Should a "True Grit" virgin (me) see the John Wayne version 1st?
by Open mind ingregor posted a "true grit" thread a few days ago but i didn't want to read it for fear of "spoilers".
as a jw youth, i was not allowed to watch the original "true grit" because it was too violent.
anyway, on to the opinion poll: for those who have seen both the original and the coen brother's remake, would you recommend seeing the john wayne version first?.

I've never been a John Wayne fan, but I liked him in True Grit. I haven't seen the new version yet. I'll probably buy it eventually.
