  "you get what you pay for"?.

  a couple of years ago i bought a lawnboy mower for $750.

  i probably only used it a dozen times since i'm not really big on yardwork.

  What's for breakfast on Easter morning?

  i always have pretty good breakfasts on weekends.

  eggs, omelets, bacon, sausages, home fries, waffles, pancakes, etc., but i'm in a rut and getting bored with it all.. i'm home alone so i want something a little different, just so it feels like a holiday.

  i suppose i could gorge on chocolate bunnies for breakfast, but it's probably not a good idea since i'm diabetic.. so what are all you guys having?

  I got a memorial invite today!!! whoo hoo!!!

  i found it in my mailbox along with the rest of the junk mail.. i took a set of magazines from a couple of jw women last may thinking i could anti-witness to them when they did a return visit on me.

  i was even nice to them, but they never came back.

  so now i'm wondering if this memorial invitation was their "return visit" or if they're putting them in everyone's mailbox in an effort to boost their holy statistics by inviting everyone in their "territory".. w.

  My Mom passed away today.

  after a lenthy illness, 10 years in total, my mother, margaret stecko, passed away peacefully today surrounded by family.

  she was 84, and leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

  she was a jw but never shunned me.

  JW Marriages - Loophole in wedding vows

  not being raised as a jw, i went to many church weddings, mostly in catholic churches.

  all the times i went to jw weddings i thought it unusual that they had their own vows, much different from the wedding vows used elsewhere.

  i remembered jws mentioning "divine temination" of marriages to me and thought the vows reflected that thought.

  Another JW article about child abuse

  i don't know if this has been posted yet, but i found this on the watchtower web site.

  as usual, it falls far short of meeting the needs of child abuse victims.

  while it mentions the possibility that an abuse perpetrator may end up in prison, i saw no statement advising that child protection authorities or police should be notified.
