  Watchtower looses Norwegian Appeal

  watchtower has just lost its appeal in the norwegian courts over the withdrawal of the funding it receives from the government as an officially recognised religion.

  the initial decision will now stand due to what the court termed 'exclusionary practices' which includes the witnesses barbaric practice of shunning minors, even by family members in their own homes.

  the ministry of children and families have decided they are now no longer eligible for the state grant of 16 million norwegian kroner given to officially recognised religions.. the following is a statement has been issued, i have summarised if it isn't readable: .

  You know this is so simple. Follow the law. The Bible commands it. Being that WT claims to follow the Bible there should not be an issue. The Norwegian government is not commanding WT to break any Biblical commandments. In fact the government in question is not commanding anything. It is simply giving the conditions it will grant funds that it controls. The Norwegian government has that right.

  As to the policy of child shunning, this is abusive. Any parent knows just how destructive bullying, social isolation and such actions are to a young person. It is simply wrong.

  It has been a while since I have posted here, yet I have gained much from this form particularly in the early years of my awakening. I wanted to share a short documentary that is premiering this week at the Bushwick film festival in New York City. This is all virtual and I am posting the link specifically for the documentary related to my experiences with the Jehovah's witnesses. However there is a lot of other good material here and I would recommend it.

  This documentary goes into the story of the loss of my daughter when she turned 18 to Watchtower, and my efforts to get her back including visiting a Kingdom Hall where I believe she was present. Trying to raise public awareness of the horrible effects of shunning.

  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  this marks the going public of a community that i co-founded with my friend todd kadish that is very important in new york city, indeed for everyone.

  especially for those who have escaped from some very controlling organizations a chance to integrate into the real world while still feeling validated and avoiding bitterness.

  Thanks guys...it's amazing the reception to this article. We have even started getting inquiries on our interest in doing a film project from a major producer! I have also been touched by the response from people who were never in a cult. Sadly so few know the damage these groups can cause.

  OMG! I just watched this. This announcement was a long time in coming. His body language speaks volumes. They are having significant money problems. How is the work expanding if they are reducing branch sizes? This can only signify that WT is having real problems.

  WT Lawyer trying to force His Honour to allow Miss Apple to garner more info showing how good WT is

  hello to all who are watching.

  his honour is being tested by wt lawyer in the last thirty minutes of day 4. the lawyer wants to bring in updates on the societies handling of child molestation cases.. his honour tells the lawyer that if he "lawyer" wants a contest between who is better than who....forget it.. his honour is slightly pissed off as wt lawyer just won't back down and insists that this evidence is very important and........"progressive" ( i think ) his honour then continues to tell nice wt jerk type lawyer, that if he thinks this will dispel all that happened to past victims..........think again.. i rough summary but fairly accurate people......god, that wt lawyer is a hateful lying, scheming son of a bitch........

  I just saw that! I loved the way Eugene McClellan handled that. All the JWs want to do is change the subject and glorify themselves rather than admitting to how backwards their policies really are.
