That is so sad Shell. Maybe he will make it out of the cult and come and find his old Auntie Twinkle
someday!
I hope for that day to come to you dear.
I share your pain........with equal pain for my own little ones who are lost to me for now.

This story just made me so mad!
by Sad emo ini heard it on the radio last night.
i was going to post it on the other 'should marijuana/cannabis be legalised' thread - but since this case involved alcohol as well, you can't be sure which 'drug' if either was a contributor to this sicko's actions.. i'm not going to post the full story here as some may find the details distressing.
it basically involved a guy who had been smoking weed and drinking who denied a dying woman any dignity in her final hours.

I on the other hand do think drugs and alcohol contribute greatly to the amount of mischief going on out there.
People are already nuts. You add drugs and alcohol and you have trouble and sadness.

Real Friends are forever
by Maddie ini been thinking about friends i have had in my life.
there are different types of friends, most come and go for different reasons.
some friendships are conditional like jw's, but true frienship is something really special.. the heart needs friendship to make us feel that we belong to life.. we need special people who accept us just as we are, who make us laugh when we need to,.

That was a beautiful sentiment Maddie.
You are so welcome here on JWD.
This is a place for healing your mind and heart from your JW experience. -

JWs preaching at college
by truman intoday, while i was making my way across my college campus between classes, i encountered a surprising sight.
there in the quad was a table with literature spread out on it, and two jws sitting beside a sign proclaiming "free bible course".
how interesting, in light of all the recent denouncing of higher education, that they should be right there in the middle of academia.

Its really weird what the Watchtower gets them to do.
What losers to fall for such manipulation.
Its embarrassing to say I ever was one of them. -

I am Frustrated beyond belief~/Please read!
by restrangled injust had a conversation with my mom about 13 million spent on defending and losing court cases by the society.. i argued that they can't argue against the catholics when they themselves are guilty of the same.. she replied she didn't care.
(after sending them $100,000.00 dollars) she stated that the catholic church had spent billions defending them selves and if the jw's had only spent millions .
that the society had spent billions sending a message, and if i didn't like their message then leave her alone and the rest of the group.. i am burning with rage......i was accused of trying to destroy her beliefs, and if i was not in agreement to reject the entire religion........which of course i have already done many moons ago.. r..

People tend to entrench themselves against all reason sometimes when defending their religious faith.

It amazes me that they find so many men willing to spend so much time for free. These men gullibly sacrifice their personal time, their family time, and their careers, their love lives, for what?
"Put the kingdum first and all things will be added to you!"
That is such a magic slogan for the Craptower Society. They have a whole arsenal of scriptures and slogans they use to manipulate good people who desire a better life for themselves and their families. These men will spend years of their lives giving talks, conducting meetings, preparing for weddings and funerals, on committees, arranging conventions etc, all so they can receive the pat on the head from daddy FDS or approval from the Circuit O. I may be wrong, but I always had a sneaking suspicion that my elder husband craved the approval of older men. I couldnt believe how obedient he was to their suggestions that he do more, do more. We were already doing more! How about our marriage???? How about doing something for us????
He was/still is definitely under their influence and control and desires to please and help and sacrifice and die faithful and have some nice words said about him at his funeral. That is his dream I guess.
Oh of course, he plans to wake up in paradise for all his sacrifices too.
WHAT A SCAM!
(they dont even let him into heaven for all the sacrifice he has made for them! Shameful rippoff!)
I hope their supply of elders is drying up FAST!!!!!
I hope the weirdness of their meetings starts folks to wonder what the heck are they doing there?
I hope visitors get the creeps and never go back.
I hope the pioneers all get discouraged and quit.
I wish my former friends and relatives would realize paradise is here and now and that this life is to be treasured. They treated me like nothing. I wasted so much love and life on those people and that organization. Im still paying the price of that folly.

Actually I drank more as a witnut. Im a tea totaller now and think people should curtail their drinking for their health's sake, their family's sake and for the safety of other drivers.
But what are you gonna do if someone in your family drinks to get drunk?
I would somehow inform them that no way am I going to be financially or otherwise responsible for any problems that come from their folly.
Getting drunk and living a long happy life do not mix and never will.
Deal with reality or reality will deal with you....harshly.
I cant believe this former party girl is saying all this. Huh, I have come a long way! -

What scam artist is writing this stuff? How do they sleep at night?
That is deliberate persuasion and mind control, twisting meanings and hinting and preparing the reader's mind for the next installment of cultspeak.
Who says we have to look for patterns in the Bible?
That is what the early nutcases did in the 1800s which started this whole crazy movement!
Looking at prophetic patterns and numbers and measurements, hidden messages and cloaked meanings,
typical and anti-typical.
While at the same time DOING NOTHING TO REALLY HELP ANYONE!!!!!
%#@$&* RELIGION!!!!!
Reading that crap really makes me angry now! I used to sit there and allow them to scam me.
But now, no way! My mind screams LIE! LIARS! SCAMMERS! CHARLATANS! RIPPOFFS! ROBBERS!

Jesus is the answer!
by startingover ini hope it worked.
my intent with the title of this thread was to attract both believers and non-believers.
whenever a thread appears promoting the wonders of jesus, it will inevitably develop into a back and forth discussion ad nauseam.. i was born into a family that believed there was a god, he had a son jesus and his word was the bible.

Im sure there are some real intellectuals who believe in Jesus.
They are just hard to find and rarely do you get a chance to converse with them, especially about their beliefs.
