  I thought I really hurt my new kitten this morning

  he was behind me while i was mopping my bathroom floor this morning.i backed up and stepped on him.. he's ok now, no limping and he's running around like nothing happened.i'm pretty sure he's ok now he was just stunned a little.my poor baby..

  Oh I feel for you! Poor baby thought she hurt her little one!
  I have been there too. When I had cockatiels walking about on the floor I perfected
  "The Cockatiel Shuffle"
  
  For 17 years I had those birds and had to walk in a shuffle along the floor so as not to step on them.
  I still shuffle about the house even though both birdie girls are now long gone in their little graves.
  
  
  
  
  
  When her mother called her to dinner she dropped the pup like a cat from up high!
  
  OH MY GOD!!!! I scooped up my puppy child and examined her for breaks. Thankfully she is alright.
  
  
  We must be extra cautious and careful around these little creatures if we are to have them for a long time.

  Would Witnesses Kill If Ordered? Probably!

  as a functioning cult, would jehovah's witnesses kill someone, if ordered?

  i believe that many would.. while some might think this is farfetched, i can cite some examples that manifest a lack of concern.

  for the lives of others, that could easily be extended into murder or manslaughter.. 1) forcing older brothers into jobs at bethel that were far too strenuous for them - as a means of.

  Perhaps it is a leap but really, if the Watchtower can talk people into going door to door for free and giving up their careers and weekends and all their holidays and birthdays and turn their backs on their loved ones,
  
  then it seems no leap to believe they could persuade them to do anything.

  That quake last night was definitely the biggest one to hit the area for a long time.
  I remember the Loma Prieta '89 quake....devastating in power and length.
  
  This one had the makings of a powerful earthquake, but fell short of intensity and duration.
  
  It felt very unfriendly, unlike most quakes which gently remind you of their presence.
  
  I didnt like it. It shook my tall heavy entertainment center and threatened to topple it.
  
  
  It was a reminder to me to fill my emergency water jugs with purified water for my use and my pets in case of an outage in which case our electric water pump will not work.

  Difference Between Catholics and Witnesses

  i have recently seen one thread about the differences between the witnesses and those other religions.

  so i will explain some of my earlier experiences as a catholic and contrast them to the witness experience.. my family was active as a catholic when i was about 6 or so.

  we had to salute the flag, and we got to play with other children and go on class trips that also made major markers in life.

  I have just spent the last 6 months renting a room in a home where the landlady is studying to become a Catholic. She has been sharing with me her adventure.
  
  She claims Catholics no longer have to go to confession. They dont even call it confession any longer.
  
  She claims the Catholic church is focusing on God's love these days.
  
  Many of the sacraments have changed a bit.
  
  
  Anyway, I like what I am hearing from her regarding the Catholic Church.
  
  
  In fact I am going this morning. I just moved to a new town and am in need of someplace to go an pray and commune with God.
  
  11:30 mass is in English and so I am going.
  
  After 7 years I continue to feel so much pain over my disfellowshipping. I need to pray and feel God is listening and cares for me. Life is too hard and cold and cruel for me to exist without thinking the
  creator cares for me and you and everyone.
  
  If the Catholic Church can help me to feel this way again I would be so grateful.
  
  
  (By the way, you can Google St. Nicholas and find a wealth of info on that saintly man)
  
  And an XJW named Jeff has a website just for XJWs interested in the Catholic church.
  
  Does anyone remember that website address? Catholicxjws???????
  
  
  Ps..........on Jeff's website he had a long discourse from the Vatican on God's Love. I was delighted and astonished at the depth and clarity and pure spiritual beauty of that discussion. Look it up. You might enjoy it too!

  i have noticed that if someone has an opinion that does not go with the flow on this forum they often get insulted and shot down in flames.

  i thought this was a discussion forum, but i am sadly dismayed to read so much intolerance of another's opinion.

  if you appear to support the jw's in any way, even though people like me may disagree with you, you are entitled to your opinion.

  It has been my observation that the outpouring of opinion and advice here on JWD is usually very well rounded and sound when all is said and done. People really try to give their honest viewpoints, which taken in toto as a community reflects the wisdom of humanity.
  
  I have been praised and I have been condemned for my views. And I have benefited from both appraisals.
  
  
  It is so much better than being in a cult where everybody smiles at you but go behind your back gossiping their real views to your friends, family or elders.
  
  
  I find the honesty and argument refreshing in that regard.

  an npr spokeswoman stated several days ago that reporters endeavor to remain objective - detached, i inferred - when reporting the news.

  the tragic news of the day was the holocaust in southern california.

  Just yesterday I was in tears. Yesterday morning I felt so low and lost and forgotten by God himself.
  I wished with all my heart to be rescued from my sadness and melancholy.
  
  My brother (nonJW) has decided to shun me and instead keep some inheritance money he was supposed to share with me.
  
  The abandonment triggered the old disfellowshipping wounds I thought had healed.
  
  Panic took over my mind as I realized one more person in the world has turned his back on me. Why?
  
  Why is this happening to me?
  
  Just when I am looking for a new rental and new job and trying to qualify for each with my miserable resume that is a huge BLANK where I spent 35 years in the Watchtower! No schooling, no job skills, no career, no involvement, NO HISTORY!!!! This has contributed to my low spirits lately.
  
  
  Having no where to turn at the early morning hour, I logged onto JWD.
  I wrote my most pitiful post ever. But I deleted it in favor of reading other's posts.
  
  My flow of tears stopped when I read a post offering comfort to another JWD sufferer where the comforter said that the flow and tide of ugliness and unhappiness that comes our way in life is often not our own fault, but coming from the other person's ugly inner spirit and heart.
  
  I took comfort in the counsel to another. I took courage to keep trying to cope with life's struggles and regain some kind of happy life.
  
  JWD has been a real help to me. The kindness and free flow of good advice I have benefited greatly from.
