The WTBS likens their organization to the life saving ark of Noah's day. Everyone who gets into the ark and stays will survive Armaggeddon and all those outside will perish.

i thought that they considered them walking dead, too, but my mom says no.

I had the good fortune to travel when I was younger....Mexico, Hawaii, through the states by car from California to Kansas, East Coast and Ireland, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy
I really loved the Southern Irish Coast in July, but we didnt stay long, just a memorable day on the beach, so pretty. Right out of the sand you could pick up whole sea shells! Large conks I think they are called.
I was 16. And an Irish boy named Meehal gave me my first kiss.
But I remember saying to myself that the Swiss/Italian border was soooooooo lovely. Lake Como where there are two types of people: fair skinned dark hair or dark skinned blondes. All the children in Europe were beautiful to me. All had rosy cheeks. And it was so clean! In Venice I had my 16th birthday.
Ps. I posted earlier I love castle furniture. I collect huge pieces i.e. large antique armoires, heavy mahogany tables with marble tops, giant ornate mirrors, and gold ornate oil paintings, also huge candleabras, and overstuffed furniture and a huge 4 poster bed.
I started collecting actually while a JW. We sisters who all loved to garage sale would go out together on Saturdays and ditch everybody to place deposits on stuff we wanted, then go back to the group and pick up our stuff later that day.
One good thing that came from service! -

by ballistic indoes jwd fill a void in your life or does the internet in general do so?.
or do you think life is made up of lots of little voids we fill with tv, internet and so on.. what would you be doing if it wasn't for tv or the internet?.

Yes this site has helped me so much to feel more comfortable and confident around others.
I think the mix of folks here is so varied, young and old, men and women, straight and gay, etc. that
after awhile you hear from so many view points from a very unique slice of society....former JWs.
I think former JWs are more truth lovers in a way than JWs. JWs arent allowed to speak the truth or tell how they really feel. They are not allowed to express themselves truthfully. And certainly when they get together the conversations may not be on certain subjects.
Here we come and talk and discuss about EVERYTHING!
This is so healthy!!
I have definitely benefitted from reading all your posts and posting some myself.
My family can see a definite difference in me these days and they say its great!
I am happier, more confident and feel less lonely.
Thank you all so much!
Love, Anewme -

Oh a subject I love! I think about it EVERYDAY!!!
Definitely a house in either Scotland or Ireland
Preferably a big grand house or castle! With that lovely countryside you see in the films.
Both my husband and I are so crazy for this dream, we only buy furniture and accessories fit for a castle
decor.
I kid you not.
While you're dreaming you might as well dream big.
But more than likely we are going to buy on the N. California coast. We both like the cold sea air.
Great for roses I hear. -

Being lied to is so hurtful that I would rather someone told me the painful truth than to lie to me.
After I was Dfd I realized for so long I was not able to be truthful. I was shackeled by the organization to always be nice, always think how what you say reflects upon Jehovah's name. I became a very shy people pleaser, and oftentimes too nice to the wrong people. The wrong people will take the truthful info they get out of you and use it to hurt you in some way. So beware.
Now my actions reflect upon me alone and I have decided to be as truthful as I can in every instance. This is a very fun new hobby for me. If I dont want to do something I say I dont. If I like something I say I do!
I am no longer forced to do and say things I dont want to.
Being truthful feels so good!
Oh, I now only befriend people I have known for awhile. And all the while I am observing them and making note of how much they exaggerate or slam other people or use grandiose behaviour.
I like accuracy, not exaggeration and truthfulness in others as well. -

What REALLY is Hell?
by defd inis it truely a firey place of torment as some religions teach?
or is it just the grave, as another religion teaches?

The subject of death is one of the most serious of discussions men can have.
What a person believes about death and any hereafter affects how life is lived.
The JWs believe that hell is the grave, a sleeplike condition and any ressurrection from it depends on the call of Christ.
To the JW to defy the Watchtower organization in any way means to defy Christ himself and so it is believed one is in a precarious position after death.
In fear of the loss of a resurrection millions are now slaves of and strapped to a manmade organiziation that has evolved and changed over the years to become the beheamoth borg calling itself "Mother".
To retain the hope of a ressurrection and ultimate paradise this borg would have its members believe that whatever "new light" or insight it comes up with is from the supreme being himself, handed down through the angels, through a group of men. If they added another meeting and a new avenue of Field Service, like internet witnessing or pulled children from schools altogether this would become mandatory in order to obtain a ressurrection from "hell" or the grave. Whatever changes they make in the future will become imperative to obey in order to be ressurrected and see the paradise. The blackmail never ends.
To be left in the grave, never to see life again is such a painful prospect for humans they will do anything to avoid such a fate.........even cutoff their family members who question.
I used to believe that God kept a count of all my works, that in the end there would be an accounting. Now, according to the JW, it does not matter what good I do anymore. I am the walking dead, waiting for Gods execution.
Who can believe this?? Everybody I've told how I got disfellowshipped and why thinks the JW are absolute rubbish! Their sense of justice is outraged!!! The JW act like the sons of Jacob who slew Schechem and his family! Cruel. I have always wondered how Jacob would have handled things differently.
Anyway, I am going to get bumped off my server if I dont post this. Sorry about the rambling. -

Have you ever got up in the middle of a meeting, bored, and just left?
by JH ini did it many times.
first of all, let me say that just about every meeting i attended was a sacrifice for me.
i was a follower, not more.

This reminds me of the one and only time my father agreed to attend a meeting with me.
I was so excited! He had kicked me out of the house for studying with the witnesses and I had been working on him for years to try to understand their point of view.
Little did I know the subject for discussion that day was Masturbation! I kid you not!
The whole 45 minutes on the evils of self-abuse.
And this by a brother who was suffering from Parkinson's and so you could not understand him very well except for the occasional reference to sinful lust and body parts.
I was so embarrassed sitting there next to my dad!
He got up half way through and said to my horror in front of all "For Christ's sake, what is this?!!!
I got up with him and drove home with him.
He never entered a KH again. -

When I worked in retail I was amazed at how many people would pull public display stunts just to save themselves a few pennies. Most of the time it works. That's why they do it. They create enough of a scene and the managers will appease them just to get the scene out of the store. Its just part of doing business with the public. Try to shrug it off.

This is probably very immature of me, but
by Crumpet inlast night my ex boyfriend finally admitted to me that he cheated on me whilst we were going out.
we split up about 7 years ago.
what is irking me most is that i've asked him before if he had and he totally denied it.
