It's been a very long time... but I'm going to California next month with several people- we got 4 day hopper passes to Disneyland and then we're staying at a beach house after that. I can't wait ;-)

Fun family study? Tolerable?

was there ever such at thing in jw families, or is this phrase oxymoronic?.

sometimes the meetings encouraged "variety" in family studies, assigning certain research projects to different family members, or setting up a bible reading as though it were a play.. none of that happened in my family.

it was just dry question-and-answer.

Ours was always like pulling teeth. My dad took it so seriously and it never failed for a family fight to break out, or someone would get the giggles and usually that was started by my mom misbehaving...lol.
The one hour study we had for the Watchtower usually took more like 3 and no one ever looked forward to it.

That last line where she said she at least wanted to see her in this life. OMG I cried. Really heartbreaking.

I cried on that part too, but I was watching it with Patrick- so I had to feign an allergy attack so he wouldn't make fun of me. That part made me think of my mom...
And I LOVED when Sara told her dad there was no advice he could ever give her about life or relationships that she would ever take seriously. Priceless.

I can't help but feel Bill is in for a world of hurt now that Albee has talked to the others that shot down his father and they all know he was behind the entire thing. Things are about to get crazy, er... crazier than they already are anyway. And just 1 episode left so I know we'll have to wait for anything substantial to happen until next season.

i have been searching for a nice new one, and came across this which looks almost of the exact replica of a print i bought last year.

i love seaside themes, there's nothing better to clear your head than a long walk along the beach and i find it helps me come to important decisions.. i just hope this avatar lasts as long as the print did, it took me two years to decide to spend the 120.00 on it (alot of money for me) went specially to this gallery in cornwall to buy it, went back and left it in the bedroom.

despite the fact it had been packed between two sheets of paper and taped in cardboard to keep it safe, i found it ten minutes later, with my then 1 yr old who had decided to try a bit of artwork of his own, but not on the nice plain paper or cardboard actually all over the picture!agh!i should know by now if the kiddies go all quiet it means they are up to no good!.

finally the ufc comes back with randy couture up against gabriel gonzaga.

there is this event on august 25 then ufc 75 sept 8 live for free on spike tv, then ufc 76 sept 22 ,and then the rematch of anderson silva and the former schoolteacher rich franklin in october.. if you dont want to pay for any ppv u can watch the fight free just by downloading tvu player..and tuning to the mma channel with carries the events live... still there s no fedor emelianenko fighting so il just have to wait and wait and wait....

The Prestige, and other movies JW's aren't supposed to like

i saw the prestige recently, and was describing it to a jw i know.

when he heard it was about two magicians, he immediately interrupted and said "i wouldn't be interested in a movie about magic".

i explained that it is not about "magic" but about two magicians, i.e.

The real magic in "The Prestige" was there being 2 Christian Bales. ♥
I LOVE that movie ;-)
It's weird how some witnesses are about magic. My dad is like that with "Harry Potter", but apparently he thinks "Star Wars" with all it's Dark side and the force and everything is OK, go figure. I think some of them make their own rules up as they go along.
