Do you have a mental image of other posters on this site?
by dh ina lot of people here have posted their photo's, but i think the majority haven't... i sometimes wonder when reading posts on here, what person making those posts must look like, not that i want to see their photo, i just find it interesting... i recently got to see a photo of someone i have talked to on here since i first joined, and i had to say the person looked an awful lot like i had imagined, so i wondered if anyone else wonders about things like this?
is there a particular poster you have a mental image of?
care to share it and see if the person really looks like what you think they look like?

I don't know what Jgnat looks like but the woman who's done my hair always makes me think of her. She's insanely knowledgeable and you can't help but love her sharp wit and personality. So if I ever see Jgnat and she isn't about 5'3" with brown hair, brown sparkling eyes and glasses I'm going to be completely confused
Other than that- everyone either looks like their pictures they've posted to me or their avatar picture. -

I have a hard time picking out things for other people (unless I have a good idea what they like) or I come across something that makes me think of them.
Other than that Amazon Gift cards work- you can get just about whatever you want there.
Best Buy is a good bet too, who doesn't like movies, games or music? -

They Infiltrate Every Aspect of Ones' Life
by LouBelle inafter being out of that faith for about 2 years now, i look back and can't believe how they controlled so many aspects of my life.. we let them in and like a deadly disease they just spread and take over.. what we could and couldn't believe, who we could and couldn't associate with, not allowed to play sports, watch what close you were, don't make friends with that one, do this, don't do that, read this, answer this way, sell that mag, contribute to our fund, contribute to the magazines, contribute to building, give us your precious time and you get zippo for it.. and we let them!!!!.
man i'm so happy i'm out - not a day goes by that i don't celebrate my new life, my new friends, my new interests..

It's crazy and so true. My family that's still in I can't help but wonder how they can't see it.
How destructive it's been on everyone my entire life. I'm glad I'm out too, I just wish some of my family members could enjoy the same freedom. -

I have some good news I'm going to share with you at JWD
by noni1974 insome of you may know i'm a cab driver and i have been one for 3 years.the company i've been working for doesn't require a hack license.a hack license is a thing in my line of work needed to work in most big citys as a cab driver.you have to take a test to prove you know the city and if you pass you get your hack license.not many people can pass the test.. i've been working for a suburban cab company so i never needed one before.well a few weeks ago i looked into changing cab companys.so i called one and talked to the general manager about coming to that company.he was excited about it and set me up to take this test.i took the test a few weeks ago.i failed the first time but i had a feeling when i left that i was going to fail.not because i don't know my city but because the test asks for exact address of major attractions businesses and hotels through out not only the city but the county as well.. so the following week i took the test again.i had a good feeling this time.i tried to call the guy back and get my results on the day i was supposed to.i couldn't get him on the phone.i started to think i had failed again so i thought i would let a few weeks go by and call him again to take the test again.. well he called me yesterday and said i had passed.i am so excited.so my good news is i am changing cab companys.i can now work in the city of cleveland with out worrying about getting a ticket.now all i have to do is pass the drug test which is not a problem for me because i don't do any kind of drugs at all and a dot phyical.. the reason for the change is i'm not making enough money at my currant company.we are only allowed to pick people up in the burbs and that makes it hard to make money.this company has many school trips paid for by the school boards and county.i will be able to have the cab 24/7 if i want.i can drive when ever i want without having to go and pick up a cab.. i know 2 guys who went to this cab company this year.the first went this summer and he told me he's making between 1400.00 a week and 900.00 a week take home.i'm making between 400.00 and 500.00 a week now.so i'll be making way more money..

How many Christmas yard ornaments is too many I ask?
by erynw inthere is a house in my neighborhood that has to hold the record for christmas decorations in their yard.
the neighborhood i live in has one road in and out so we can't avoid this eyesore.. i swear, they have every inflatable, plastic, lit up, wire formed, animated yard decoration that has ever been manufactured.
it looks like k-mart threw up in their yard.. they have enough lights on the house, bushes, trees, eaves, roof, fence to signal the mothership into a safe landing from any galaxy in the universe.

by AlmostAtheist init's nearly midnight, and all this week we're doing some after-hours work.
we have to do this when the agents are off the systems, thus after 11pm.
hopefully we'll finish it up here before 2am.

Mine is fake prelit. I love the real ones but I hate to see them thrown out after Christmas. It just seems so wasteful and wrong. They smell incredible though- can't get that smell from a fake one
