When, if ever, did you start caring about POLITICS?
by Open mind ini've said a few times on here that i'm 99% mentally free of jwism, or something similar.
but i think i may need to back that number down just a bit.. i now believe that this world is all we've got and that,collectively, it matters what we as a species do on this orb if we want to continue to spread our dna indefinitely.
(some would argue that human extinction would be a good thing, but i'm not in that camp.

I think 2004 was the first year I voted, I really started getting into politics the last 3 years and now I watch the political debates and discussion shows whenever I can.

A joke my priest told me.
by Wordly Andre inthere were these two young boys, they were up past their bedtime watching tv, but the only program that was on was a televangelist, and he put the fear into these boys that you had to be baptized in order to make it to heaven, and that you could die in your sleep and not be in the favor of the lord.
well this really scared the poor kids, so they jumped up and ran out of the house and down the street to the nearest church, they were banging on the door, they just kept banging and banging, until finally the janitor opened the door, and said what do you want they yelled we want to get baptized, we want to get baptized, the janitor said well come back in the morning and talk to the priest, they cried no!, no!, we have to get baptized tonight, we have to get baptized right now,
well they wouldnt leave the poor janitor alone, until finally he said ok, ok come with me.

for those of you who know him, i just can't stop obsessing over this yet, and feel the urge to share, our lovable resident hippie (i can say that 'cause i mean it in a positive way and i adore him, so there), openfireglass, has shorn his dreads.
he gave himself a haircut yesterday and the dreadlocks are no more.. it was a surprise that i came home to after work yesterday.
