  District Convention 2009 Complete Audio Recording. Why not for general distribution?

  i have a complete recording of the 2009 district convention.

  at the beginning, the speaker says that if you do record the convention, you are not to use it for general distribution.. why not?.

  if the assembly is a public event why not get it around as much as possible?.

  For Shepherd Book.

  This was said by the Chairman immediately prior to announcing the opening song No 174 and prayer;

  'We would also like to direct that any recordings of this program should be for your personal use or for the benefit of those unable to attend.

  Recordings should not be made available for general circulation or distribution.'

  I don't know how to go about making the whole recording available for all those unable to attend, ie the 99.9% of mankind who didn't hear it.

  I don't know if the recordings are already on the net but I'm happy to oblige if anyone can advise me.

  It seems to me that either Jesus was having me on or the Watchtower was.

  I would like to use this quote next time I speak to a Witness to show why I stopped going to meetings.

  But I would stress to them that it was my faith in Jesus that was lost because he lied to me

  not my faith in the Society who would never have got this wrong and would never lie to me.

  They can't have it both ways.

  Either Jesus was wrong or the WT was.

  Which is it brother?

  how are the dubs reacting to swine flu?

  i'm just curious as the offical govement advice about swine flu is to stay away from public areas if poss and if you have swine flu to stay from everyone full stop!.

  but my experiance of jw's is that they would go to the hall wether they were infectious or not.

  many is the time i've sat behind someone coughing or spluttering away!

  I would guess many of them are thinking ''Great, I'd better catch that soon before all the other brothers get it''

  In my old congregation many had over active thyroids.

  Many others had under active thyroids.

  M.E. was also very popular several years ago.

  I think diabetes and Crohns disease is moving up the charts along with gall stones.

  Round these here parts I think the dubs love it.

  How Does God Hear All Prayers???

  when there are about 50 million prayers being given at any one time, how does god listen to them all?

  does he know all of us by name or by a soul or something?

  does he have a movie of our lives to judge us at our death?

  i finally broke my silence yesterday in a discussion with my mom.

  for months now i have been dropping hints here and there that i am not pleased with many things happening in the org, but i would always present it from a concerned jw prospective.

  my wife wants us to remain closet jw's because she has bigger reservations of displeasing her family than i do, and wants to continue playing the game.. yesterday however my wife wasn't around, and for the 100th time my mom was ragging on me for attending one of my best friend's weddings because he was marrying a non jw, and the fact that his df'd brother was there.

  Personally I feel it is better to be honest. But everyone is different.

  ''At the district convention there were half a dozen times where I wanted to jump out of my seat and yell at the top of my lungs, "liars!!!".''

  My last series of meetings and assemblies I attended I felt exactly the same.

  occassionally (very) i have met jw's that don't know me and i would like to ask them something to make them think.. any suggestions for quick, simple, thought provoking questions to ask jw's that you may meet?.

  i seem to remember 'v' did a youtube question along the lines of,.

  ''how can you belong to a religion that allows blood fractions to be transfused?''.
