New Beginnings!!!!
by JWFreak inwell things have changed big time for me.
on the 3rd of dec. finally, i have left my work at bethel and moved almost 500 kilometres away to a new life.. some of you were aware of my work in a european branch, and have kept my confidence.
for this i am eternally grateful...you know who you are.. the huge weight that has been taken off my shoulders is both a comfort and a relief.. when i settle into my new home properly, i intend to write some memoirs of life at the branch, hoping that others will find it of interest.. for now my future is for the first time uncertain and that makes it very very exciting, but i am no longer under the control of others yay!!.

If Armageddon comes on a Tuesday......
by ThomasCovenant indoes it mean that all the people who die on the monday will be resurrected on wednesday, whereas those who die on the tuesday are dead forever?.
in practice, isn't this the jw belief?.
therefore, every death now, prior to the 'imminent' armageddon, is really a blessing in disguise..

Taking legal action against the JWs for DFing??? Need serious advice
by 2pink ini posted a thread a bit earlier about our impending judicial committee/dfing for celebrating "false religious holidays".
they have seen decor on the outside of our house, so i guess that is their "evidence" that we engage in false religion now!
my husband and i have talked and are serious about taking legal action against the jws if they try to df us against our will.

How about reminding the elders that you know where they live and work?

To those who believe in an afterlife reward, what is the big deal about death?
by ThomasCovenant inmuslims and christians, and probably most other religions i suspect, seem to believe in a happy afterlife which is inevitably better and longer lasting than this one on earth.
so what is wrong with dying and death here now?
why the terrible grief at the death of loved ones?

Muslims and Christians, and probably most other religions I suspect, seem to believe in a happy afterlife which is inevitably better and longer lasting than this one on Earth.
So what is wrong with dying and death here now? Why the terrible grief at the death of loved ones? Surely when the policeman knocks on the door to inform such ones that a relative has just been killed in a vehicle accident that believer should leap for joy.
Admittedly there may be sadness at the fact that one is no longer able to share this life with the deceased, but it pales into absolute barely worth mentioning insignificance at the overwhelming reward the deceased is now partaking of. (Assuming, of course, that the deceased hasn't ended up in that bad place reserved for bad people. Funnily enough, I can't recall any funeral mentioning this little alternative destination.)
If my life was to consist of one week of working followed by fifty one weeks in a paradise island holiday and then someone said I can leave work after only two days and go straight to my hols I'd be overjoyed. I'd certainly be happily envious of any work colleagues that got this perk before me.
If my life was to consist of 70 years of earth life followed by eternity in a paradise and then someone said I can leave earth after only 20 years and go straight to my paradise I'd be overjoyed. I'd certainly be happily envious of any earth colleagues that got this perk before me.

Got a letter “inviting” me to my Judicial hearing- should I go?
by hoggieman inhey everyone, my family and i have not gone to meeting in over a year.
rumors have swirled about us, but i have always dodged the elders calls and never said anything about my feelings.
so after a while the calls/visits dwindled, but in october they came by again and saw our halloween decorations.

Or you could say,
''If you are going to threaten my lifestyle in any way then please rest assured I am going to threaten your lifestyles. We all know where each other live.''
If it was going to jeopardize a relationship with still in parents, ie the parents would then feel pressured to not have dealings with the disfellowshipped relative, then one may feel entitled to threaten to disrupt the lives of the elders concerned.
I'm just saying.

I'm starting to develop a real hatred toward this religion
by man in black inthis past week i flew out of town to attend a seminar for work, then afterwards i drove 150 miles extra to go and visit my dad.. two years ago my mom died, and the lack of concern/caring from the so-called "friends" from two different states was a major reason why i walked away from the jw religion.. anyway, my dad is depressed and his local hall has him doing more fs, and attending the meetings,,, ok so that could be a good thing for him.. but i noticed that service and meeting attendance is the only thing that they are pushing on him.
nobody seems to check up on him, he just jumped at the chance to go out to eat with me.
and the negativity !!!

KS Blood-Handout s-55-e (PDF)!!!
by yknot inwe interrupt your forum posting for this 'just in' item...... it appears an elder has not locked his doctor's bag and a member of the conscious class has brazeningly swiped & scanned a copy of the s-55e.
(((thank you anonymous cc jw!.
for the purpose of our bethel audience i want to assure you no actual elder was willingly involved in the obtaining of this scan.. link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mnf7a0.

Thank you.
''Parents can inform the court that they are refusing blood on deeply held religious grounds but are not refusing medical care and have no intention of 'martyring' their child.
This setting may not be the best time for parents to mention their strong faith in the resurrection, as this may convince the judge that they are unreasonable.''

Keep Abstaining from Coffee

Also, as white sugar makes up only 96% of brown sugar (i.e. no molasses added) it can rightly be viewed as a fraction of brown sugar and is also an allowable fraction.
Whilst on the subject molasses are also a fraction of brown sugar and may also be taken as a food/beverage if required in an emergency as long as not at the same time as the white sugar from which it was removed.

Yes very nice of them.
I notice too, that it states
'' average age 33''
average years since baptism 17.9''
They could have said instead that the average age that they got baptised was 15. That's quite young isn't it.
