''Those meeting the Scriptural requirements at the time of their appointmentas overseers or ministerial servants may thus be said to have been appointed by holy spirit.''
At the time of their appointment?
Not in the years, days, or even seconds before their appointment.
Not in the years, days, or even seconds after their appointment.
Only at the time of.
There we are. We've covered ourselves.

Hi, welcome and thanks for joining in.
"but once you see everything in context it’s impossible to carry on." Exactly same for me.
"In the end I simply stopped going one day…..and heard not a peep out of a single brother, sister or elder."
I think many who post here would be surprised to find that this is probably the norm and I would say just do it.

New video of interviews with Famous active and former Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have put together a mash up of active and former jehovah's witnesses, including a number of interesting interviews.. http://youtu.be/ozwvh57erro.
as a side note, i hope it does not get removed for copyright violation, as software automatically scans for pieces of music and i have already received some violation messages.
the video does comply with fair usage laws, as the music is relevant to the commentary..

Nicely spotted thanks. My mistake, except Coventry.
Cardiff used to be in Millenium Stadium seating capacity 72,500. Motorpoint Arena capacity 7,500.

Should I ''respect'' Bible and Koran believers?
by ThomasCovenant inbelievers in the koran/islam, that's all of them, not just so called extremists, believe that i, as an unbeliever, will be the fuel for the fires of hell.
that's nice.. they, along with all bible believers, worship a god who is, according to his written publications, a right bastard.
i despise their god/s.. i find that i do not respect their beliefs.. i cannot help but think that when all the philosophical talking of this, that and the other is done, they're just idiots.. i, on my down days, find that i do not respect them as human beings.

Justitia Themis,
My mistake sorry, I took Surat Ali Imram 3 verse 10
'' Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire.''
to mean that I as an atheist would be the fuel for the fire.

I, on my down days, find that I do not respect them as human beings. But I think this is wrong.
But I find it hard to respect someone who as an adult still believes in Father Christmas and the tooth fairy.
How do I overcome this?

How I recently handled JWs at my door
by Christian guy inthe jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.
i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.
so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

Captain Obvious said
''There is only one possible conclusion: the case for a deity in the sky is far too unconvincing to warrant committing myself to. And if god is real, and he is the Judeo-Christian God, then he does not deserve worship based on his book.''
And the people who do worship that 'god' do not deserve my respect.
