Here i am....

here i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.

i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.

-wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

If YES, then you have to accept everything they tell you to accept. End of. Do not pass go.

If NO, then they are no different to the plumber who lives opposite me. Or my dentist. Or my taxi driver.

If YES, then all the people who have died because of the blood and organ issue will be resurrected

If NO, then they, and indirectly you, are part of the reason they died.

The fact that you are here tells me you believe NO.

To say it out loud, NO, is difficult to do.

Do you think a lot of JWs are ashamed of their beliefs?

the reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.

my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.

i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

I did my level best to always avoid discussing anything slightly religious just in case any one ever said ' hey, aren't you a jova witness?'

Totally embarrassed in school and work. Not ashamed, just embarrassed to be known as, what I would call, a religious nutter.

Anyone have a Kindle or a Nook?

i really don't like the ipad (or apple) but i think an ebook reader would be nice.

nothing made by sony though .... the amazon kindle and barnes & noble nook look to be the best (esp.

with the recent price reductions) but i'd like any insight from anyone who has one.

Bought the new Kindle for Xmas pressie for wife. Battery life with daily use is great. Didn't need re charging for just over one month. As a book reader it is very good.

The world is sadly lacking in effective leadership. But how refreshing it is to follow Christ's loving leadership! By all means, obey your Leader and cooperate with us.''
