I completely agree with Katie, but I didn't always find it easy to demonstrate my pride. I think I find it more difficult to stand up for my beliefs now. I just don't have the same confidence...

By Jove!
by the_classicist inremember witnesses pointing out all that time that "by jove" meant "by jehovah.".
just to set the record straight: it's not "by jehovah" it's "by jupitor.
" you see in latin, jupitor is spelled thus: iuppitor.

Men In The Girlie Department.
by Englishman inhow do other guys feel about going into women's clothes shops?.
i spent ages with her ladyship in the per una section of marks & spencers today.
i was quite happy to bumble about behind her and even managed to achieve some nonchalance while i was waiting for her to try stuff on in the changing rooms.

I think it's really nice when men take an interest in clothes shopping for their wives/girlfriends. Even if they aren't interested, lots of women find clothes shopping quite stressful and it's good to have moral support/second opinion. It's lovely, in fact, when they are doing their level best not to look deathly bored, unlike the grumps that slump on any available chair with a face like an angst-ridden teenager.
I do, however, feel uncomfortable shopping for 'undergarments' (!) with sleazy blokes checking out what I'm buying, or leering at their g/friend while picking out the sluttiest underwear in the most indiscreet manner. In M&S it's not uncommon to see some perv rubbing the gusset of some silky knickers with a hideous grin on his face. Makes me run for the hills

What songs stand the test of time?
by JV inseeing as i'm dowloading songs so i can blast them at the neighbour kids, i was thinking, what songs stand the test of time?
what songs do you listen to over and over again and never get tired of.
here's my list.. if you tolerate this - manic street preachers.

JV, sorry to be intolerant, but working hours/shifts etc don't always conform to city byelaws, and loud noise is seriously annoying to me (I write). I wouldn't like it if I was your neighbour. Having said that, I wish my parents had encouraged me to be musical! How about soundproofing?!!!

The most significant difficulty with the org is the 'all or nothing' mind-set, which means that if you genuinely question and debate you are already in the 'nothing' end of the binary opposition...

"I cant stand it when for example im shopping and trying to concentrate, someone says "Dont worry it may never happen" I really feel like killing the stupid cheerful idiot.
I need a good response for them, no not f""" off "
Vitty, I completely agree. First of all, those kinds of comments are NOT helpful, and secondly, have you tried punching them and then saying "it just has!"
