Nail on the head Jgnat. Hibiscusfire is very sneaky. She starts off sweet but has yet to respond with an adult response to anything posed to her. Defd's responses border on childishness as well. Adults are capable of defending their beliefs or established positions. The determinant factor in such defenses are that these beliefs are not resting on sand and are not the compilings of name callings that we are subjected to. My faith in humanity is our bane in that I always look to see if their responses have justified their positions. I am always hopeful that my newly resigned belief in nothing will be overturned by people who have a passion for their faith. Instead I am subjected to painful responses by painful people.

kenneson my friend, i have a question for you.. since you believe that god planned katrina to hit new orleans and kill people, then tell me something.. why would god send a hurricane which we can track?
all he accomplished was giving a chance for all the people with money to get out, so he could kill and torture all the people who were not fortunate enough to get out.. with all the tools at gods disposal, wouldnt it have made more sense to hit them with an earthquake or something that we couldnt forecast?
surely the toll of death and suffering would have been far greater.

Yeah, so I'm gonna call trump on all of you. My best friend who is still in but recently df'd (I'll let you guess why after the story) and his wife went to the memorial high on coke. Another time he did lines in the bathroom stall. Even I was offended. I didn't go to the memorial this year (nor will I ever again) yet he thought that my actions were more wrong than his. Self righteousness is a funny thing.
as jehovahs witnesses, our lives revolved not around the worlds reality, but our own imposed one.
sadly this more often than not involved our concept of the future, many times to the neglect of our present.
since separating ourselves many have discovered to our surprise a buried and suppressed ability to think, reason and act on the results.
Think about what you have discovered since your leaving. Some have discovered philosophy. Others have found nature, Buddhism, mediation, a real relationship with their creator, the un-doctored bible, charity, unknown family members, compassion or unconditional love. For so long while “inside” the sure future of a paradise earth drove us. That thought helped us get through the drudgery of work, having to get out of warm beds to proselytize those already content with their lives, the endless repetitive “study” (I use that word loosely). So often at the door my appeal to the householder was the innate human desire for paradise. Some part of me still wants that. What do you want? What will be the culmination of your personal “truth”?
