If they did read it out, i can imagine some people nodding in agreement - if i didn't hate the place so much i might be tempted to call in and hear what they have to say, except i stay away from places where i'm not welcome these days

opps, wrong button lol here it is
by dedpoet inlast week was the 13th anniversary of my baptism into the borg, and i celebrated it by writing a letter of disassociation to the uk hq.
this has been acknowledged, and i am out of the wt!
the dubs who came round to confirm it commented on the date, so i told them it was quite deliberate, kind of rounds things off nicely, don't you think?

Miss Peaches - The Story (warning its long)
by misspeaches ini was born into a family that didn't attend church.
my mother had been raised a catholic and was quite fanatical about it until puberty hit and she discovered boys.
dad's family were christian but non-practicing.

thankyou for all your good wishes, i had a phone call just a short time ago telling me that my letter will be read out tonight. it'll happen around 8 pm uk time so i reckon i might drink a toast to freedom about then, though i doubt they will read it all out - i had a few harsh things to say ....... "13 years ago i became a baptised jehovahs witness, attending the xxxxxxx, congregation. it is now several years since i went anywhere near a kingdom hall, and have no intention of going to one again. therefore i am disassociating myself from your cult as from now. the person i studied with is currently in prison, having received a 7 year sentence for abusing children, including at least 3 cases of actual rape, and i have no wish to even slightly connected to an organisation that allows such people in its midst. this man was about to become an elder when his crimes came to light. i remember enough about cult procedure to know that he would have been a regular in field service to be considered - such hypocisy! as most of my former cult colleagues now ignore me anyway, it will be no great loss to me if they all have a reason to do so i am now a happier wiser man, though i don't expect you to believe that, and consider the years i spent in your cult wasted years - i will never be that stupid again. i have long since recognised your cult leadership for what it is - a lying, thieving bunch of hypocrites who control those they ensnare with their false promises of a better future by fear and intimidation. you talk of your preaching work being an act of love to all mankind, when you wouldn't recognise a loving act if it hit you full in the face. for the record, i smoke, drink, (but not to excess, unlike some witnesses i know), have sex when i get the chance and run your cult down whenever i can. i no longer believe you have the truth, but if you are right i'd rather be wrong, i don't ever want to be like you again. so goodbye forever, may you all get your just desserts. i have survived you, how lucky i am! doubt they'll read that out, what do you think?

JW Shunning Does Accomplish A Lot Of Good...
by Honesty inbecause it shows everyone in the community how cruel, unloving, hateful and distorted the cult can be at a moment's notice.
when a jw shuns an ex-member in public as the ex-member greets the jw with a smile and in a friendly manner the normal reaction of people who see this is repugnancy.
they see how hypocritical the jw's are because they go 'from house to house' proclaiming their love for other people and then display their real hearts when they encounter an ex-member.

being shunned has done me good, i don't have to listen to any more of their bs

Did you know you were being deceptive at the doors?
by truthseeker ini was recently out with a sister on the ministry; she was talking to some security guard.. she has been witnessing to him, on and off for a few weeks.. before she leaves, she gives him a question to "think about" and tells him "she'll be back next week" to give him the answer.. this security guard reads the bible at work.
the sister was talking about the resurrection hope.. she says, "did you know the bible promises that we can see our dead loved ones again?".
she finishes by saying, "next week, we'll discuss what god requires of us in order to realize that hope.".

no. at the time i saw it as an act of love, it was later, after i left, when i realised how deceitful i'd been

no way, i'd rather have my teeth pulled without anaesthetic than go back there, that pain would end sooner

I am not dfd, i just left a few years ago, and i get a yearly call from the borg to see if i want to return - with the same reply, not yet, although i dropped the "yet" last time. perhaps they do have a conscience about how they bullied so many into leaving - can't see it myself though, my guess would be it's financial, to help pay off all the child abuse court cases they will lose in the next few years
