  Defending WT changing Doctrines

  The key word there is "new", something they hadn't seen before, or as in the case of scientists, maybe something not previously invented.

  The watchtower, on the other hand, claim to follow the bible as their textbook. There hasn't been anything new in there for 2000 years. As for the bs the wts spew out about "progressive understanding", that's just an excuse to change a doctrine when the sands of time run out on it, as with the generation idea that they had to abandon in 1995, before all those around in 1914 died off.

  the borg here are at a critical stage in their court room battles.

  It would be nice to think that some current jws will see through this, but I doubt it will happen somehow.

  rather than hijack another thread and inspired by fullofdoubtnow and dedpoets music for the wedding thread i thought i would start a little "dedications" thread - this isn't the sort of dedication symbolised by dunking though!.

  (i expect to see ggbg and ofg here forthwith for some romantic dedications).. i'd like to dedicate the following to someone special - "bodies - by drowning pool" .

  they probably wont see this, but the thought that counts!.

  i am one of the fortunate ones whose father was an elder ...note was....but defied all odds and sent me to university.

  Getting Old, Didn't think it would happen to me.

  untill the last year i stayed 50 years old.

  now it has finally hit me, i'm getting old.

  i never felt my age and could do about any thing without pain or feeling like my body couldn't take it.

  You've had more than your share of worries in the past few months.
  Maybe the way you are feeling now could be a delayed reaction to
  what you've been through.

  Having said that, looking on the positive side, you have done remarkably
  well to have got to 70 without any real health problems. You still enjoy
  living, so keep on enjoying it. Maybe the things thet are bothering you
  nw will pass more quickly than they would for many men of your age,
  (and I gope they do), as you have always been so fit.

  Take care, and don't worry, that can only make things worse.

  book: What the Bible Really Teaches - help

  i have been told to study this book with a sister so that i may can be indoctrinatedadjusted according to bullshitaccurate knowledge.. i dont have this book, nor do i remember reading it, or studying it, just wanted a head's up from those of you who may have it, or know where i can read a copy of it online...any help is really appreciated.. thank you in advance!.

  the title had a familiar ring to it

  Of course it did, and so will the "information" in it.

  It will be just the same information, repackaged a litle. that the
  watchtower have been churning out for as long as any of us can
  remember.

  They never had much to say that was worth hearing anyway, so
  studying this book won't give you a new perspective on what you
  once learned. All you'll get is a repeat of whatever book you
  studied when you were younger, with a differrent title.

  as some of you may be aware, i write poetry, and some even think i'm talented, so i decided to write it down in verse.
