What "Type" of "Apostate" Are You? Conservative, Liberal or In The Center?

some are very much out there in trying to bring the watchtower down.

some will go to extreme measures to see to it that everyone knows how wrong the witnesses are.

others are less demonstrative and more liberal as to their approach and of course there are certain ones that are pretty much in the middle...... where are you??

I'm a very active ex jw.

I don't demonstrate outside assemblies or kingdom halls, but I do attack the
watchtower in other ways, such as on here, on my website and via the media
if I get the opportunity. I use those means to expose their false prophecies, child
abuse, hypocritical acts such as UN membership etc.

I would love to live long enough to see the watchtower's total collapse, and if I can
do anything to speed that process up, short of breaking the law, then I am more
than happy to do it.

Is there anything wrong with listening to anything the jw's say????s

i was reading some of the articles my mom brought home and gave to me and i was wondering do the jw's have any good ideas on a good way to live your life.

i mean do they know anything about how to live and what to do when you have problems.

i was wondering because i want to know if i can follow any of the info in questions young people ask book or are they wrong and every aspect and should i just never read it again.

Hi Lotus,

Some of the advice given in certain jw publications is obviously very sensible,
like staying away from drugs, not drinking too much, not smoking, not sleeping
around etc, and following it will benefit anyone.

However, the prime motivation for all their publications is to interest people in
becoming jws by whatever means possible. If you read their literature but avoid
studying with them or attending their meetings, you won't come to any harm IMO.

a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.

i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.

You are almost right there Mad, I've been spreading the word a little myself today.
You call us losers, but the real losers will be the watchtower. They have already
lost financially through the out of court settlements, and their reputation will suffer
when this news eventually trickles out. I very much doubt that these 14 cases will
be the last either. I guess they will just have to put more pressure on the flock to
stump up more cash, or maybe sell a few more properties.

However, now the more we think about it, when the news of the settlement begins to move through the congregations,
How will they ever find out though?

I just emailed the BBC Panorama programme with this news, suggesting that maybe it's time for a follow-up. Hopefully they will at least look into it.

Whilst I too would like to see the watchtower exposed as the lying, hypocritical
paedophile-shielding organisation that we know they are, I don't blame these
people for taking the money on offer rather than going through with a lawsuit
that might go on for years, and with no guarantee of a win.

The org loves money, and I am so happy to read that they have had to part with
some.

Attorneys are always looking to pick to low hanging fruit. The most lucrative cases seem to be personal injury lawsuits and now that the lawyers know the WT Society will settle out of court on these pedophile cases the lawyers will begin mining the US for more pedophile cases . California is just one state and there will be lawyers filing cases in other states soon, I bet. I can't wait to see the TV , newspaper and magazine legal advertisements trolling for JW pedophile victims. The brothers in the KH will eventually find out what happened

this proves that noah built the original ark.

if noah hadn't built the original ark, how could someone build a 1/5 scale model of it?

I suppose it finally convinced me that God does not exist.

I was an agnostic, and very close to being an atheist, when I started studying.

I became a true believer of sorts, but always found stories like Noah's Ark very
difficult to take as literal, and when I left the watchtower I had become the atheist
I am now.

Were you or were you not implying that Brenda's video was not in the wrong because of Witness actions and behavior? That's certainly what it looked like

Why all the nitpicking John?

As far as the video, or anything else an ex jw does at the watchtower's expense,
short of criminal acts of course, I don't see how we can judge them as right or
wrong. I wouldn't have done what Brenda did since, as I stated in my post, I
wouldn't enter a kh anyway, but that doesn't make her wrong for going to the
memorial and partaking, or for filming it, at least not IMHO.

She was, as I said before, having a bit of fun at the watchtower's expense. If
you find that juvenile ands tasteless, that's your right. If I find it amusing, that's
my right. I don't judge you for your opinion, I left my judgemental attitude at
the kingdom hall when I quit going in 1999.

So, are you advocating basing our moral actions by the actions of jw's?

I'm not advocating anything, merely expressing an opinion based on what I
heard and observed of the attitude of the watchtower towards any other
belief system during my time as a jw.
