defd, don't just say not true without backing it up, when it is obvious that the average JW is taught to believe this. Just this past weekend, I talked with my mother and sister regarding the truth lie, (both active dubs) and October was repeatedly mentioned.

I drove from Georgia to Maine in one straight shot, just me and my three kids. It took us about 24 hours. I could have done it quicker but I was still nursing my youngest. It was actually a good time. The kids and I had fun. We sang to the radio together and played all those old road trip games. Good times...

The first one that I knew was a close family friend. He was very spiritual, but a great guy. Several years after he anounced that he was anointed, he announced that he actually wasn't. There was speculation that he wanted it so badly that he made it up. I remember being told that this was the unforgiveable sin "grieving the holy spirt". I remember thinking, why continue then if you know you aren't going to "get" anything out of it. I voiced that question and was told that maybe Jehovah would forgive him because he knew how much he wanted it and wasn't responsible for his actions. Whatever...
The second one was an A**hole. He was know for going around and asking all the young single brothers if they had a problem with masterbation. I couldn't stand him.

Religious Stupor
by Caveat ina relative of mine, a devout witness, is a very righteous person who drives carefully, lives a decent life in all respects.
telling a lie is completely off limits.
to my complete amazement they told her that is not the case.

Yes, unfortunately this past weekend I had a similar experience with my sister. After we agreed to stop the conversation (it was getting heated), she stated, "I think I did a good job defending my faith." I said, "I was the one with the questions and you were unable to answer even one, shouldn't I be the judge of you doing a "good job" defending it."

Here here, happy dad.
I get so irritated when I see the people who are on welfare that I am supporting (via taxes) making more money than I do at a full time government job!!

Minimus,
You just described my sister. Now when we get together we do a preemptive (sp), "no talking until the end of the movie".
