  Lady Lee, I also tried finding it online but failed. Do you think Jim Penton would post the transcript here? More JWs lurk here than would read his book and I think it would be a great incentive for them to look further into their religious roots.

  Thanks for the link to the court transcipts. They do not mention Maria's authorship of the volumes though, apparently Jim Penton's source is different. Do you know where he got his info?

  Interestingly after Russell and his wife separated in 1897, he only published one more book, The New Creation, volume 6 of the Studies in the Scriptures.

  Both the references (108 and 109) refer to the transcripts of record Russell v. Russell pages 10-17 and 117-127 respectively.

  Have these transcripts been posted here yet? The claim that Maria co-authored the Volumes is an explosive one, imo.

  Was the straw that broke the camels back, the workload?

  i realise that there are many reasons for people leaving the org and some are very sensitive and difficult to discuss.

  but i was wondering how many people, if they really think about it, were finally broken by the sheer workload as a jw.

  someone replied to my thread yesterday (page 2), and discussed the average week for most jw`s.

  The JW workload was tough but it would have been as light as a feather if the GB put their money where their mouth was. If they were just honest and lived as they told us to live and if they loved as Jesus said they should.

  Hypocrisy and lies eventually makes a load unbearable.
