got home sat.

and am still in quite a bit of pain...this seems much worse than my knee replacement last year...as i had a scope done on the left only a few weeks ago; so it's still rather sore.

but my son has generously loaned me the use of his notebook for a little while and so i was finally able to read up on my e-mails and cruise my favorite web-site...this one!

to a beautiful round-faced angel named megan.. .

born at a few minutes before 5:00 pm and weighing in at a light 8 lb 10 oz.

and i say light because her brother last year weighed in at 9 lb 10 oz.. .

At home recuperating from my surgery

i had the surgery on friday and i am doing well.http://www.spine-health.com/topics/surg/overview/cervical/cerv03.html.

just really sore but able to walk and get around the house.

the neck brace is the killer, i was itching and broke out in a rash.

Family tragedy.........HappyDad

got a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.

her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.

the ex wife is also critical.

WT Prays for LA Storm victims

this morning at brooklyn bethel, patterson and wt farms the governing body offered a prayer in behalf of all of the citizens in the la area.

that jehovah provide the needed protection for all citizens who will be impacted.. .

the gb prayed that those who would be risking their lives, such as essential personeel will have the needed strength to help all citizens.. .

JWs who were actually cool

we always talk about the crazy j-dub fundy types, but i knew some cool jws (co, do, bethelites, pio) during my time.

this is kind of a "where are they now" post along with acknowledginig some jws who were cool and down-to-earth.

as with most "cool" and good people in the borg, most of them are either not jws anymore (burned out) or are not "serving" in responsible positions (funny how that works, isn't it).

Alan Hood is still going strong. His wife had a mild stroke about a year ago, I think, but he's still a CO. He said a LOT of strange things from the platform. I remember once he said, in a talk, that JWs pull scriptures out of context all the time. I nearly fell out of my chair.
