I have also identified someone as living in my area from a comment on a thread and consequently met up with them.
It's very easy to do. If you don't want to be identified, please be careful!

it has come to my attention that there have been numerous posts on the board asking posters personal questions like:.
where do you live?are you male or female?do you know people from a certain congregation?do you know a certain district overseer or circuit overseer?do you know of certain conflicts in your congregation?post some pictures of where you liveif you are an active or fading jw ...?if you are an active elder ...?there are plenty of other personal type questions that can be used to narrow down who you are.
some may seem quite innocent like the post pictures of where you live but if i post a picture of ottawa but don't want anyone to know i live in ottawa i have just told the internet world where i live.

Raw food diet (for cat) to eliminate cat allergies in humans... interesting!
I just recently started my cat on a raw food diet for her numerous health issues, and she improved almost immediately. I was plesantly surprised! But the thing I noticed from almost the first day was that her fur was softer. It's almost like something changed in her "saliva-chemistry", so that when she was grooming herself after eating the raw food, it was better for her fur.
Just thought I'd add that tidbit of information!

so far only 'myobs' and 'wdtbrt' ..... yea i think it is awesome!.
embrace technology, embrace it 'mother'..........(remember rutherford's and knorr wanted jws to appear 'modern'!).
((((( if you lurk for a 'given one'........whisper to him that sister yknot says 'solon association'..... boost in wts cash intake,)))))).
"Have you considered buying your husband an mp3 player? You could even add in some starter files, like Fred Franz's 1975 talk."
hahaha, great idea! Can't use his MP3 in his work vehicle, though...

@soldler77 - I think there are so many JWs who "forget" to donate for the literature that the WTS had to do something about it. They can still rake in for the Worldwide Work, or whatever they call that stuff now....

Of course they do. It's going to save them a buttload of cash over time.
My husband used to get the WT on CD, so that he could listen to the articles in the car. Well, the WTS stopped sending the CDs, and instead made the articles available for download on their website.... so we spent a fortune in blank CDs so that he could download that crap and listen to it.
Pretty soon all the JWs are going to have to download all their books and print them up themselves... LOL!

Aaaaaawwwww!! So cute! I hope your husband does ok with him/her!

hi guys,.
sadly some of them had been in bethel for 5 - 10 years and were still cleaning toilets.. after about 2 years of it i couldn't do it anymore.
i always knew something wasn't quite right with this organization.
Hi brotherdan!
Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry you're going through this.
I was in a similar situation... I was raised a JW, as was my husband, I pioneered straight out of high school, he was an elder, we had kids and were Good Examples in the congregation When I finally decided I had to leave, it hit my husband like a ton of bricks. My kids were young teenagers and he forbade me to speak of my 'apostate ideas' to them. He threatened to leave me, told me he didn't know me anymore, I wasn't the person he married, etc, etc.
I wanted to stay married to my husband because we love each other, and for the sake of my kids. I managed to avoid getting myself DF'd (due in large part to advice I received on this forum), and have succeeded in getting both of my kids out of the WT. My husband is still in, but our relationship has vastly improved the past couple of years.
You wrote this about your wife: "She is completely trapped by this religion, while at the same time not agreeing with everything they say. She doesn't agree with so many things and will talk about the need to be balanced. She takes almost everything they say as suggestions. However, she feels that it is the ONLY place to be. It's her identity."
I find this really interesting, because my husband is the same way. It's like, appearances are everything. I don't think he even believes a lot of it, really. And I think that a lot of his reaction to MY leaving was about HIS identity changing - he was no longer the head of the Perfect JW Family. He no longer had a SuperDub wife, but an inactive wife. He no longer had Exemplary Children, but kids who were getting 'older' and were still not baptized. Our home was no longer a social gathering place, but a place that The Inactive JW Woman lived and that no one would visit. When I left, it was because of the lies and deception within the WTS, and I didn't care what other people thought of me (well, not so much, anyway.) But for my husband, it is still his entire identity, and HE wasn't ready for it to change.
This site was a lifesaver for me. I'll always be so grateful for this place. Visit here often, people here understand what you're going through and are soo willing to help!

why has god allowed this system to go on for soo long?
he's god he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone!
why have the billions that have lived on this earth had to suffer for what two people did in eden?.
"God is waiting for humans to see that the only way this life works right is by the WILLING acceptance of his rules of order. It is pretty basic that if all human life were to use the rules of the sermon on the mount as a means to live and do so because they WANT to, the morass of mess that exists now will begin to change."
And that would stop earthquakes that kill thousands? Or tsunamis that kill hundreds of thousands?
"The only problem that requires the existence of God is to remove death." What about cancer? We may be able to cure cancer - but have you witnessed the suffering that chemotherapy causes? Watched a child nearly die from a bone marrow transplant? Why is that ok with god? GGGpeople have often commented that much of the current growth of jws is taking place in developing countries.
social researchers studying the growth of jws, mormons and seventh-day adventists have confirmed this observation in a recently published article: .
r. t. cragun and r. lawson.
I wish WT would publish their numbers for the United States, broken into two categories: English-speaking congregations and then, everyone else.
Me too!
Example: The KH where my husband goes started out with 1 English and 1 Spanish congregation a few years ago. Now there are 1 English and 4 Spanish congregations there. And that's not counting the Portugese congregation that had to move out of that KH and meet somewhere else!

ok, just the last hour or so.
i avoided it till now because i get so sick of smug "i am better than you cuz i don't believe in god" types.
but bill maher is someone i have always respected as an honest debater.
I think the point of that movie is to cause people to really think about what they believe.
If it leads to a crisis of faith, then what's causing that? Allow yourself to ask questions about why you believe what you do, ask more, and see where it leads you. But be intellectually honest about it.
Good luck!
