  Trouble for Richie?

  so today, after the meeting, one of the elders from my jc walks up to me and my mother and asks if we had time to talk.

  thankfully, i had to get to work, and mom wasn't feeling great.

  we said today wasn't good.. so basiccally he said that he and another brother want to meet with us on wednsday night, after the tms, to "see how things are going".. so here's quandry:.

  If they're gonna DF you, then they'll DF you....no matter what you say or do. The only way to avoid it is to kiss their ass and tell them how sorry you are for whatever they throw at you. And how you were misled and really just wanna be a good little Dubya, and oh pretty please Brother Justice cantcha gimme just one more chance?

  Personaly, I'd rather eat whey protien mixed with milk!

  They only have as much power over your life as you allow them to have. You don't have to sit down with them. If you do you don't have to do it on their terms. It may lead to DFing, but since they're wrong before God....does it really matter?

  if this was an invention, they would be millionaires.

  being called the truth really sets the statement apart from lets say.....the lies.

  I refuse to use the term with my JW family. I always say "in the Organization". The term is such a control buzzword. You're in "the truth", therefore any teaching you are taught is true, any disagreement is wrong, and anyone who leaves is rejecting "truth". It's breeds other common JW terms towards former members like "you know better". It makes me sick the more I think about it.

  I agree, Rutherford. He was obviously driven by the need for power. Today we see his spawn in the form of a dogmatic, know-it-all GB. Also in self righteous elder bodies.

  Won't affect them at all. They'll just have to cut money elsewhere to pay for the gas. Maybe they can start recycling all the soda cans other Dubs leave behind in the car after service.

  i've been thinking, if the jws won't allow smoking, excessive drinking, or the alteration of the outer body, do they also have rules about caloric, saturated fat, transfat, and sodium intake?

  these things can be just as harmful to the body in the long run.

  Watch the documentary "Supersize Me" by Morgan Spurlock. He proves that fast food consumption is just as bad for the body as alcohol and smoking. In view of this I think the JW's need to crack down on the membership. They need to have fitness testing. It is well documented what a persons body fat, and weight should be for their frame. Any JW who cannot meet these guidelines within a six month period should be summarily disfellowshipped! Just like smoking.

  i've just been messing around on the net with yahoo groups.

  there's some interesting ones on there for ex-witnesses, although lots of "dead" groups with no activity.

  anyone got any experience of starting one (not necessarily ex-witness related - anything).

  No they don't, and man is that a good point. It's something I pointed out to my elder father once. The Bible directly speaks about gluttony. As the JW's are so adament about smoking (not mentioned in the Bible) and the like, you'd think that fat JW's would be getting called into JC meetings all the time. But they don't. Why? Could it be because a lot of elders are complete fatasses? Or are married to plump women? Me thinks so!
