Dude, did you ever think that you might have impressed the girl by handling the wreck properly? If you'd been a jerk, she'd have seen that, and probably not have liked it.

My mother is annoying me, badly!!
by Gill inmy mother is seriously annoying me, now.
i have never been a patient person and only ever put up with so much before i go out firing on all cylinders - 'the fiery latin in me' i'm afraid!.
anyway, my mum wants me to 'study the bible properly' with my idiot elder cousin and his watchtower on legs wife.. these are the very people, who have shunned us with a vengeance for the last few years and who my parents asked permission from a couple of years ago, when they had a barbie, if these wonderful christians would be offended if we were invited, what with our being 'non meeting attenders'.. i said, if you want '.....' and '.....' to no longer be jws when i've finished with them then a study would be a great idea however, if you think you can change my view on the wtbts and the idiots who follow it then you've got another think coming.. we had a belter of a fight on the phone before 'she remembered' that she'd got eggs boiling on the stove!

Never heard the one about David counting his armies, priceless! Did he count them once a month? Carefully noting each small aspect on a nice little white form? Did he then take that form down to the temple, and place it in the box at the back? If he forgot to turn that slip in by the 5th of the month, did the Army Overseer Priest give him a call to remind him? If he forgot to do his little count 6 months in a row, would the High Priests consider him unworthy, and talk about him behind his back?
I just love how JW elders and the GB can take one scripture and apply it to there LEGALISTIC organization. As if all there 1100 rules where handed down from Jehovah. And all the suckers slurp it up, and tow the Organization line. Slaves to the Watchtower!

My wife is thinking of quitting the "truth"!
by Goldminer in.
last night my wife said she was thinking about quitting the truth.she says she finds it too hard with me having doubts and not wanting to be a jw anymore.she has also been burned by her few jw friends, and the rest are either disfellowshipped or getting divorced.it's really hard to build lasting relationships with such people in the religion.. another positive factor is that she has made 2 good "worldly" friends over the past year.i think she's starting to see that people on the outside can be nice, have morals and accept others as they are.. i hope in time she starts feeling good about this decision and that i can slowly show her the many errors of the wts.so far she agrees with many of the things i've told her but still believes it's the truth.it's a hard battle but i never tought i'd hear her say those words.. btw,she finally called a local elder to see if he can help me with my many questions.he's coming over tonight so it should be quite interesting.i think he'll be a little surprised at some of the direct questions i have;i'm also hoping that after a while he decides there's not much hope for me and just labels me an apostate and starts talking about df'ing me.that would show my wife their attitude towards answering questions that have no scriptural answers.. anyways,i'll do my best to keep you all up-dated.it can be hard to post as my wife diesn't know i come here on a regular basis.. goldminer

VOTE.
Went back to college.
Cuss (but I'm trying to work on that)
I already watched R movies, so I can't claim that.
Follow my conscience, instead of my WTS induced guilt.

Not to be outdone, Taco Bell has announced a new line of Presidential Burritos. The top of the line George W. burrito comes in an attractive half sized shell. The toppings are considerably conservative however, limited to plain sour cream and tomatoes, and stuffed full of cow-shit.
Those with a larger appetite can select the Cheney special. It comes in a double sized shell, smothered with sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, fried bacon and onions, two scoops of chicken grease, tomatoes, olives, and green onions. In keeping with the Presidential theme, it too is stuffed full of cow-shit.

I was dunked at 12 or 13. The summer between 6th and 7th grade. The dubs in our area looked down on other children past the age of 15 who hadn't been to the pool. They even when so far as to critisize their parents, behind their backs. The feeling was that they had to get their children locked in before they got old enough to be "influenced by the world". Funny part is that it has backfired. Out of all the young people I grew up with, very few are still in. I would say 10-15%. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. NONE of us are still in. ALL my siblings are DFed, except for me.
Around me, I'm seeing an exodus of young ones from the Matrix. Especially if they can get to college. Very few go to college and remain DUBS. Maybe that's why the GB has had to snap them back from the 4 year degree path.

Oh and I hadn't heard the scripture about Jesus' words to the disciples that were sent out. They don't apply to the FDS at all. If anything they would apply to someone who was actually preaching to someone else about Jesus. That would be a more fitting parallel. Amayzing how the GB can twist scriptures with the intent of maintaining control. And the blinded, faithful stand at the DUB trouph, and slurp it up.

Only 25 baptized at a DC? Wow! I remember seeing 200-500 baptized at every DC I went too. (Usually closer to 200). They used to line them up all the way back into the service tunnel. 25 is just pathetic. Could it be the addictivness of the JW's is weaking? The other day my father-in-law asked me why I was going back to college, and then gave me a funny look. Now I understand why. I feel so sad for all those poor people. Sitting there for three days and getting brow beaten about loyalty to the GB and elder bodies. I also feel so great to be free of their guilt, and shame!

Why did the WTBTS not sue Ray Franz?
by Gill inif ray franz had been lying in anything he said in both of his books, c of c and in search of christian freedom, surely the wtbts would have sued him.
why did they take no legal action against him?.
could it be that this legalistic corportion realised he had lied about nothing?

Reading CofC was what gave me and my brother complete release from being raised in the "truth". The borg has no hold on us anymore. Thanks Ray.
Ken P.
I couldn't agree more. The WTS can't risk their members reading that book. Heck most R&F today don't even know about Ray Franz, or that a member of the GB was disfellowshipped. I never knew it, until I stumbled across CoC at Barnes and Noble. Even then I wouldn't read the book. My family didn't know it, nor did my wifes family. The Society has done a wonderful job at erasing that little episode in it's history, and in programming it's members to discount anything such ones might have to say. I would say that's why they haven't sued Franz.....that and the fact that he backs up every claim with proof from WTS letters and writings. It's hard to sue someone when they're beating you with your own words.
