Somebody needs to shoot MJ in the back of the head!

I've personaly experienced the same thing with my brother-in-law. He was over at our house one night, when the PO and another "superfine" came knocking on my door. When my wife opened the door, they practicly pushed past her and demanded to know where her brother was. I shit you not, they literaly led him out of the house, placed him in their car and drove off with him. They brought him back two hours later; he told us they just drove around for two hours questioning him about some party he'd been to.
Talk about gestapo tactics.

It was an awesome movie. Which ending did you see? The baby in the womb, or the meeting on the street ending? I prefer the meeting on the street ending myself.

GREAT quote on fundamentalism. Spot on for JW's like PMJ
by avishai inhere is a great quote on fundamentalism by jimmy carter.... .
i define fundamentalism as a group of invariably male leaders who consider themselves superior to other believers.
the fundamentalists believe they have a special relationship with god.

JW Marketing
by Clam inthe way the jw religion markets itself often intrigues me.
needless to say one of the most powerful marketing tools, the internet, is giving more hindrance than help to the wts.. i'm suprised that the organisation still sticks with the basic door to door sales approach, which more often than not irritates people, and that they push their message primarily with rather crude magazines.
i'm sure the magazines have to be basic and cheap to maintain profit margins, but in a more sophisticated media dominated world do they really think that cheesy drawings of people cuddling tigers in front of waterfalls is a good sell?

The Watchtower is scared to death of the internet and anything else we might consider "progress." These things represent loss of control to them. Back in the mid 90's when the internet was really cranking up, I had the novel idea to go online and witness. It was awesome, I could sit at my computer on a Saturday morning in my pj's, and witness. I think I talked with more people in one day than I had in two months of door-to-door; however, when the elders found out about it, they freaked.
The Society can't afford to have it's members actively online because they can't control what they might see. While the Society can hide and rewrite it's history when the only thing their people read is a Watchtower, they cannot do this online.
God I love the internet, it's the great equalizer.

What was your first Apostasy?
by Dune ini'm re-reading 1984 and the similarities between the wtbs and the "party" astound me, but anyway, it made me think of the time when i started to get doubts (thoughtcrime).. i remember once at this book study a sister commented about the 1914 and was reciting it's historical accuracy.
anyway, she went on to mention that the demons were probably learning everything about biblical prophecies from the wtbs.
i was 13 at the time but the comment made me cringe, i was thinking "why would superior beings need humans to interpret the bible for them?

I don't view anything I've done as apostasy. It is the Watchtower Society that is in apostasy, to shout it from the rooftops is no crime.

Grow a goatee and show up for service in blue jeans, a t-shirt, and sport coat. You won't even have to worry about talking to him!
