hmm, i'm starting to think that i'm some kind of "minority religion" magnet.

am i wearing a big sign that begs proselytizing religions to come and convert me or what??

and not only that, but i don't even draw local religious nuts, i draw ones from away!!.

A JW's reaction to new BLOOD letter.

here is an actual jw response, from another board, about the new blood letter.

notice the brainwashing.the service meeting was very informative and clearly helped spell out the duties of our dear elders in helping us during a trying time.

it also made things very clear to each one of us regarding our individual responsibility when it comes to making our own choices on the blood issue.

It also made things very clear to each one of us regarding our individual responsibility when it comes to making our own choices on the blood issue. The meeting made it very clear our need to be aware of our options and not expect anyone else to make these decisions other than ourselves. Then there was the matters with our children which need careful understanding of the laws. I know some of you think this is being beaten to death but believe me when we need this information it will be deeply implanted and you then can react automatically and without doubt. Hope you all catch this meeting everyone should be there or connected by phone if possible. Love ya Sherryl

What proportion of JW kids stay Witnesses? How about in your cong?

the wts is currently growing at about 1.3 % which is similar to the global propulation growth rate.

if all the jw kids stayed as jws then the religion could grow as quickly as it is now without any door knocking.. if in 2005 1.2 billion hours witnessing resulted in the religion only growing at the rate it should be naturally it suggests a lot a kids are leaving, or doorknocking is not having very good results.. of about 100 people born into the wts that i can remember in my congregations in australia about 3/4 of them have left.

From my personal experience around 70% of the my friends are out. Surprisingly the majority of these are elders kids like myself. A lot of us were auxiliary pioneers during our summer breaks, and most of us had aspirations of Bethel service or regular pioneering after high school. I'm a firm believer that the majority of JW youths are bailing out as fast as they can. I even had an elder tell me that one time, he said that the Society was growing very worried about the "problem" they were having with retention among teenage JW's.

JW youth's almost always leave if they get into college. The WTS's BS can't withstand a thinking mind, which is why they demonize higher education; they know a college educated JW= someone on the way out.

Jehovah's Witness skating parties were da bomb!

was this just a local arkansas thing or were jw's everywhere getting jiggy at the skating rink?

we used to have awesome skating parties and witnesses from 150 miles away would come sometimes.

or sometimes we would drive that far to go to one.

Around here every Sunday night was skating night. People came from all over and it rocked! I could skate my ass off, and when the lights went out and the slow music came on, most of us were out there slow skating together..........I was usually too chicken to ask a girl to skate though.

Husband had to get a blood transfusion

hi all, i told you about the heart attack.

well, he developed complications from the anticoagulant.

he got acute gastritis and started loosing blood in his stools.

How wonderful that he is able to take FULL advantage of all the life saving tools available from modern medicine. It's so nice to see doctors unhindered by some goofy anti-blood rule.

Am I right that the news is out before it got to the congregations?

It would seem that way. I printed a copy of the Jan. 3 letter from another link on the board; now I'm holding a copy before most JW's even know it exists. I wish my mother-in-law would drop by and see it on the table..........it would freak her out.
