it was a 88 sentra worth 11,500$ and i sold it to a brother for $4,500.
i did this because he was a friend, and also because he's the one that brought me into the org.

by cyberdyne systems 101 inhi everyone, i'm a newly registered member here.
left the witnesses coming up to two years ago, got df about 8 months after that, still struggle with life after the 'truth', feel resentful of it all, but know i'd never return to that brain washing.
anyway hello to everyone one, enjoyed reading posts i've seen so far.. arnie

Loosie, I read about that experience of the sister in Africa, I think at the beginning of this thread, that she and everyone from her village, crossed that river on a regular basis to get groceries and such, so no big deal, no big sacrifice there, just everyday commuting. Incredible aint it? we all bought that Sh*t.
I remember one experience a couple of years back, this brother was the PO in my KH, very arrogant both he and his wife, they went on stage and after relating how they had always remained faithfull to Jehovah, that they had always put him in first place in their lives bla,bla, bla, well, they went on to say that they were so thankfull that their children had grown up and were faithfull servants of Jehovah, my husband and I both looked at each other, because their son was df'd at the time. What bull!
But all this really shouldn't surprise us, Russell- aka the Laodician Messenger, Rutherford- The Judge, Franz- The Scholar Bwwwahahahahahaha! yeah right! If you know one for Knorr- you can add it on. The leaders serve as teachers with their blown up and misleading titles, what can you expect of the followers, it's not about truth, it's about getting people to do more, and more, they will only feel like doing if they think others are reaching these high standards.

One Day Assembly - Special Talk
by Mystery inif it has already been discussed please refer me to the link; i looked but did not see one.. my mom & sister came down to see me and my family for thanksgiving a few days to have turkey and dressing.
they haven't been down in 3 - 4 years; but due to the new addition to my immediate family - my first grandbaby - they had an excuse to come.
i called them before they began their trip and mom was tired because they had just returned from a one day assembly in houston and now she had to pack to get ready to leave again and drive the 12 hours to my house.

I know it is a difficult time for you and your family, but how do you know that what he saw were lies? What makes you so certain that everything we say here is lies about Jehovah and his Organization if you have never bothered to investigate it? Do you honestly think someone would risk losing all their family and freinds for unsubstantiated lies? This is very unlikely.
So called apostates do not ruin families, the Watchtower Society ruins families, the truth does not fear investigation, the reason you and all the other JW's are forbidden from reading material that disagrees with the Society is because they know if you did you would find out the truth about things. If the truth the Society teaches can not hold up under scrutiny then it is not the truth!

It is all such a man made fantasy, the WTS pictures of paradise are such BS, they show houses with all the modern conveniences of asphalt roofs, stucco, etc, well where are they going to get these from? if all of this will have been destroyed, and if lets say in their fantasy world some of these manufacturing plants survived intact, who is going to work there? I assure you no JW alive today plans on going to a regular job in the new system, so it aint happening.
Not that I buy any of this earthly paradise BS, but it would be more believable if the houses they pictured were more like the homes the early settlers had, made from logs, or maybe mud huts in tropical areas, things that do not require manufactured items, horse drawn carriages, assuming horses survive the big A, but then if they showed what it would REALLY be like if the big A, happened as they have been teaching all these years, it would not be a pretty picture.
There would be no beautiful garden like scenes like they show, the world would be a ugly, stinky, muddy mess, if they showed it that way no one would want to be there and go thru all of that, so like the good sales people they are, they show everyone the cleaned up, surreal paradise, that everyone would like to be in, THE CARROT THEY DANGLE IS QUITE DESIRABLE, UNTIL YOU GET CLOSE AND SEE IT'S ONLY PLASTIC !
How very sad, my mom has in the past described to me how her home in the new system would look in great detail, she has actually sat there and designed this, drawn it out and all, this was after a talk was given that encouraged doing this, so it would be more real, and faith building. Yeah, keep that false dream alive and keep slaving for the WTS, she is a regular pioneer and thinks this life is not to be enjoyed because the REAL life begins after the big A. My poor delusional Mom, what to do? At this point let her live with that dream, she is in her late sixties, and has wasted her life in this CRAP, what does she have now? She lives alone, is divorced from her JW cheating spouse. I just hope she can at least find some nice pioneer brother to keep her company so she will at least enjoy some happiness before she goes.

Exactly, while speaking to a family member on this matter he actually told me "there is no other group being persecuted like the JW's are, that shows that Satan is attacking Jehovah's people, because he knows the end is near", he was a bit perplexed when I informed him that other christian groups have been and are currently being persecuted for preaching, of course after his brain tossed it a bit he came back with, "ok well, but they are not preaching the "Truth"", sadly the majority of these people don't think outside the JW box, they live in a self created delusion.
