The fear of death being the final end is something that I struggled with also, it's a very frightening feeling coming from a JW background, we were so certain about where we were going after death, and we thought the WTS had all the answers, only to later realize we are back at square one after our eyes are opened. I like you, began researching Near Death Experiences and Reincarnation, and what I found has brought us much peace and happiness. I recommend you read "Old Souls" by Tom Shroder it's an amazing book. I know that ultimately we will only know when we die, but there's no reason why we shouldn't read the compelling evidence that is available to us now, if this will bring us peace.

just thought i'd share this because i'm amazed at how many people know and love this movie but have missed the significance of it's beautiful metaphor.. dorothy, scarecrow, tinman, lion represent everyone of us with or thoughts of being incomplete, imperfect and needing something outside of ourselves for fulfillment.

I loved that movie! Onesong, that's an interesting take on it. I can relate, we have always had everything we need inside ourselves, we just looked to some Borganization to tell us what to do, and what to think. But we have now seen who is behind the curtain, and it's not Jehovah, or the Creator, just some old men who are trying desperately to hold on to a sinking ship !

And no, there is no place like home, home is in the here and now, not in some long held illusion of a coming JW Paradise, as many of us now know, that's only an ad campaign slogan, meant to bring the new ones, and hold on to the old and tired out ones, but it's not very effective any longer, the illusion is slowly fading away as more and more realize that this earth isn't such a bad place, and life in these times is actually pretty damn good, as opposed to the dark ages for example. Although I am aware that for some life is very difficult and sad, hopefully things will get better for them also.

OH HELLLLLLLLL NOOOOOO!!!!! They didn't just use that damn painting yet again!!!!! I have seen that thing recycled about half a dozen times if not more!! I just can't bring myself to go and listen to that idiocy for 3 painful and excrutiatingly BORING days, did I mention BORING? I just can't do it, anymore. Going to the memorial last week was torture enough!

In your family, how many of the grown up children are still in?

i am the youngest of 6 children (the only on that is out)and between us we have 12 kids.

the last i knew only one was still attending meetings.

two others were never baptized and see my parents once in a great while.

There are 5 of us, 4 baptized, 1 not, all were raised in it, and we are all out, though not officialy. From my side of the family cousins that I can think of, from 6 that were raised in it, 4 got baptized but only 2 remain in. The from my husband there were 6 raised in it, 5 got baptized, only 2 remain also. I guess it's a good indication of were this religion is heading !!!!

to those that remember me i came here to tell you something.what i want to tell you is that you guys were right.

i have been researching the wt since i briefly posted on this board and i have come to the conclusion that the wt is nothing but a man made organization.

i have been researching the wt non stop since december.

((((((((LeftBehind)))))))), I am so glad to hear that you have opened your eyes to the truth about the "Truth", it's great that you have reconciled with your brother, family is the most important thing in our lives and no one should ever keep us from them. I wish you much success in your journey there is so much more, that you will learn, read, read, read, and you will be prepared to help others open their eyes. My husband and I have helped about 10 people open their eyes and it has been the greatest thing for them, some of those were suffering from anxiety and depression and those things are in their past, now they see life as a whole new experience, very positive, it's great!!!

The only issue that i have with it is that as far as I know this is from the Raelian cult, the same people that falsely claimed to have cloned a human.

JWfacts, where did you see that these people are related to the Raelian cult? Because if that's true, I would like to know. When I looked up info on the people they feature, I could not find a connection to that cult, please let me know.

Strange cults are NOT the answer! Have you not noticed this yet? (I mean this in the nicest possible way)

I"m afraid that despite all its faults, failings and inadequacies, democratic governments are the only way to solve problems such as poverty and inequality.

Gill, when did I say anything about joining some strange cult? haven't I just broken free from one?

Thinking Positive and giving money to a cult of religion will accomplish nothing.

Again, when did I say I was giving my money to a cult and for your info I don't believe in religion, any religion, do you honestly think that the year of researching the BS of cults and religion that I have spent have been for nothing?

You have to get off your ass, talk, take action, work etc NOT pay $4.95 for a 'secret'.

So basically you know for sure, that I am not talking and taking action, you would be very WRONG!!!!! I never said all you had to do was pay $4.95, had I known that some of you would be so offended at paying that miserable sum of money I would have mentioned it from the get go, which I should have said anyway so as not to appear misleading, which was the furthest thing from my mind.

There is NO EASY way I'm afraid. This is life and This is the SECRET - WORK you butt off for what you want and what you believe in....That's IT! End of story.

I completely agree, it takes desire, work, action and money to accomplish the end result!

Thanks to those of you who looked close enough to see my true intentions, when I went to that site and saw the things they were trying to sell, I too saw that they were trying to make a buck off of this and frankly I will not purchase any of that stuff because I have more important things to spend my money on. BUT, the positive message is very helpful, and yes I've pretty much read alot of this stuff from a variety of authors like Napoleon Hill and so many others.

Gill, I know what you are saying, but who's to say that this new awareness is not the answer to the calls of so many hungry and suffering people, that through our efforts we can make a difference, come up with new ideas to feed and clothe these people, it all takes money and action, if I find a movement or a group of people that is genuinely trying to do this and is trustworthy you better believe that I will gladly contribute my money to make that happen, but it won't ever happen unless someone takes action and that my freind is one of my major goals in life!
