Rallying the gays!
by jstalin init's been a while since i've been on here and just wondering if any of the gays are still around... in addition, if you are gay and new to the board (or even been here a while), go ahead and introduce yourself!.
if you're gay and stuck in the organization, this is a good place to talk about it and meet other people that are or have been where you are.
it's not a choice and there are plenty of people out there who understand what it is like to be in your position!.

2009! Remember Y2K and 2000 -planes falling from sky computers crashing?

computers would think it was 1900 and crash, planes would fall from the sky, chaos and destruction.
arnie had his movie "end of days" 666 upside down is 1999!......oooo the huge movie bill board counted down till 2000 the opening premiere.....we held our breath and.....nothing happened.

I work in IT as well and put a lot of time in during 98/99 on the Y2K issue. All those damn vendor surveys... the thought of it makes me neurotic all over again.

Financial planning now that the world isn't ending?
by JimmyPage inwell since the world was always going to come to an end i never really studied much finance.
anyone have any good advice on getting started?
any good books that help?

If your employer offers a 401(k) with matching funds, start with that. If not, go with a Roth IRA. Find a good low-cost brokerage, like Share Builder (the company I use), to open your IRA. Start simple, with something like an S&P500 index fund.

What electric light bulb? Who knows. I can't find any reference to an actual light bulb, except for another heiroglyph, which is explained in its context: http://www.catchpenny.org/abydos.html
And electric battery in rock that is carbon dated to 500,000 years ago? Nevermind that carbon dating is not used to date rocks.

The term "Jehovah God"
by kzjw ini'm having trouble with it...i accept that god has many different names, yaweh, allah, jehovah, etc.
imho, it doesn't matter what you call him as long as you him!
but what's up with "jehovah god" as i hear the term used in talks by certain elders.

Because JWs are polytheists... they need to distinguish which god they are referring to.
