I grew up during it, and almost went through the whole motions of marrying some sister who I'd never want to be with. But I still get pressured alot with finding some woman to marry, and you get really annoyed everytime they say it. Right now i'm out of the truth and trying to get friends who appreciate me instead of the fake smiles and nods I had to give.

I'd love to hear from anyone who grew up in the truth and is gay
by PaulMarshall inhi.. i have decided to join this site and hopefully connect with some people who will know what my story has been.
i guess it is best to read my profile, but the upshot of this new found technology is that i am no longer alone in my isolation.
i can hopefully reach out and connect with people who really understand what it is like in my head!

Yes, and due to recent circumstances, i'm able to fade due to depression without any backlash. I'll be in your other topic.

Did the Witnesses you know, see "Fortune Cookies" as evil?
by free2beme ini was in a few congregations growing up and like many things in the organization, rules were often regional.
one of those issues i remember and it was something i always got a kick out of, was people's reaction to fortune cookies at chinese food restaurants.
i had not run in to it as a child, and then i moved away as a young adult and was studying with witnesses to get baptized and they would try to make me feel more welcome, by inviting me to meals with other witnesses in the congregation.

Wow i was thinking about this 5 years ago. AN Elder ate the fortune cookie, and read it, and I was shocked, because of how i thought it would be spiritism. It said something like Do your own thing, and he just read it and disagreed with it, and that was the end of it. Then we joked about another fortune cookie that said "You are smart and do things smartly"

Well when I went they were cleaning the kitchens so no food. Then I walked down a dark hallway that reminded me of going inside the alien ride in Universal Studios.

In high school i got hit on "Straight guys", then it got annoying but they didn't know i was anyway so I rejected it but it was nice for a while.
I got hit on by a woman at college, and another girl in the carribean, who years later I found out in some obscure way we are related. eww.
I seem to get more attention from older ladies then men. :( -

What was the first thing Adam said when he set eyes on Eve?
by ballistic inaccording to the bible he decided to name her "woman".
in the previous verses he had been on an exercise to name all the beasts of the field and birds of the air.. personally, if i'd been wandering around a paradise garden on my own for years naming animals and suddenly set eyes on a perfect naked woman, i think i would be inclined to invent the first swear word.. although later, when eve gave birth, adam said it had been "with the lord's help".
so maybe he wasn't quite as spontaneous as i'd imagined, or maybe adam thought god was serious when he said she was a "helper".

Lets say you went to a meeting, list what would irritiate you...
by JH in.
in my case, it was always the length of the meetings that bothered me.. no matter what meeting it is, you have to get there prepared, and that means lots of time reading the darn literature.. another thing that would irritate me, is all the magazines that come in faster than i can read.. i'll let you guys add to this list.. .
