on page 146 of what does the bible really teach?, the opening sentence of paragraph 6 purports to represent one of the six criteria for determining the true religion.
it reads: "god's servants base their teachings on the bible.".
Question 1: Do you believe that to be a certain mark of the true religion? Jesus used the Torah could be jewish...?
Question 2: Do you believe that absence of Scriptural basis for teachings is a mark of false religion? Disfellowshipping means no part of the world.. get out of her my people...
Question 3: Do you personally know, or can you find, the Scriptural basis for the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses? In the new world translation you can.................... But i also no that in my grama's baptist bible that it shows that there are 144.000 and in every other religon it dont teach that...??? right?? how did i do?? P.s 12 people sat down for dinner one night and the next day was the last day of true religon being spread..people when there ways and started there own teachings after jesus' death..

this is a very important observation, that the watchtower has not tried to explain in print why 607 bce is the year for the destruction of jerusalem for the last 17 years!!!.
all that the watchtower has done over most of the last two decades is to repeat over and over the year "607bce" in its publications as if it is an unquestioned fact!.
the last time an explaination for the year was attempted by the watchtower was in 1988 when the "insight" volumes were published, but since then, no explaination for the validity of the year has appeared in print.. this must mean something, but what?

unlike those of you who made the choice to drift or fade away, i was df'd a few years ago and, at the time, i thought i would return.
with the passing of time, i am realizing that going back for the sake of mending family bonds is not a good enough reason to go back.
but my family has been holding out the hope that i will return.
Awe i feel your pain and i understand completly in a way that you cant possibly imagine.
dont feel ashamed to rejoin. but, dont feel ashamed not too. Ive been disfellowshipped twice now. both times I told on myself. and both times i was sad. but then began to realize that all my friends around me who were still inside are losing there virginity.
people are not perfect. but tell me this....do you think it's hard to go back... it takes about a year or less and you have to attend regularly and you must read all the publications. once your back in you forget all the reading and the talking and you return to the What is life really about phase.. then you tell yourself.. well it's about the paradise. and in the bible that I have read there are regulations to abide by.. although remember jehovah wants what we can give. so if you got reinstated and only went 1 meeting a week that would be your best. and thats all he wants. all the other power hungry go go go be a pioneer be this be that ....
the only people i met who were fascinating people were not pioneers. they were normal average Joe blow witness who really cared for one another. and most were disfellowshipped.. bringing themselves to tell on themselves for actions WE ALL DO.........
and if they say they dont THEY ARE LYING.....no ones perfect.. elders disfellowship when the victim appears to have no fear.
having No godly fear scares them. or concerns them...but in fact prayer to jehovah should be just as sufficient.
i know being disfellowshipped is hard and believe me it's killing me.. but I know one day when iam old and grey there will be alot of time. to be with your family..time is a marvelous thing..

Well, in the last 6months before i got booted out. they started with conscience decisions on blood plasma.
and some other things that i cant remember.. but not direct blood contact. blood alternatives.
well an elder had the nerve to tell me that i 'wasnt doing enough' and that i should 'really start' by coming out on the evening service on monday night.
'yeah, ok mate'.
there is a lie to get out of anything!
WOW....thats a good point... ive never seen them doing any charity work for any non-jw organization.
I remember when i was at my grama's funeral back in the summer..and she was a baptist. So it was done in a baptist church .And they had charity donation boxes. which i had not seen before and my first reaction was like....WOW this is a church lets focus on god here or my grama's funeral not charity..cause after the sermon they were like rest in peace...and then does anyone want to contribute to charity.. i thought i was off key...
But however it is nice that they offer some relief to charity and relief efforts.
On topic and OFF topic.. about the evening service.. It's odd how they go in service and yet kick out many that actually believe in it..?? cause if I hadn't believed in it i wouldnt of told on myself. and the people who dont tell on themselves sit next to people at the assemblys and you woudnt' even no the difference. do they want honest people who sin... or Dishonest people who sin..?
elders were famous for making up stupid rules with no bible base at all as an ego trip i guess, what were some of yours?
i am not talking about the stupid rules that we all had to follow, just the congregation specific silly ones.. 1. having to button your jacket while on stage (this was later changed due to all the elders having a beer gut).
2. suits only or no privledges.
not sure if these were considerd rules or just mulit-purpose for controlling irate commenting...
