The following "head-scratcher" may have been a local mini-scandal at least amongst local JWs after this local newspaper article disclosed the interfaith participation and source of funding.
Also, if the Gilliams were not JWs, why were the JWs there?

Wake Up -- Possible Local Mini-Scandal
by West70 inat the risk of causing some excitement around here, and since i haven't posted anything here in a long time, i thought i would post some links which maybe someone here can provide a reasonable explanation as to why a north dakota congregation's name would be on what possibly is a contract to provide home health care services to possibly some elderly jw -- but in illinois ????

Anything is possible when you are shooting in the dark, which means Shilmer may be correct, but I do not believe so. From the referenced webpages, and links from such (which show the transaction and vendor codings), it is the appearance that that North Dakota Congregation is the party to the contract, which means the $90,000.00 worth of checks went to them, and it is doubtful that such occurred without someone filling out tons of paperwork. This posting is not a "got-cha". I simply thought that I would throw this one open to other "warriors" who occasionally visit this DB, because thus far, I have not been able to get a response from the contacts at the VA that I have attempted. Maybe someone in North Dakota, or an adjacent state, could contact a regional VA office which would be fearful of ignoring their request for info due to the possibility that that requestor might possibly show up at their office one day. Locals could also contact their Senators and Congressmen with the same requests. I can't think of any legitimate reason why a JW Congregation's name should be on this file. It should not be assumed that such is legit simply because of the VA connection. There seems to be at least a high probability that the Cong is violating WatchTower rules, if not some others. Here are the quick google links: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=jehovah%27s+++site%3Ausaspending.gov PS: Neither was this topic a posting for the mere entertainment of those here who never do anything but criticize those who do do something.

WatchTower and Abortionists walked hand-in-hand as "unborn children" were lowered to the status of "fetuses".

Some viewers might particularly be interested in the "blood transfusion" court cases that relate to pregnant JWs and their "unborn children".
See how the right to refuse blood transfusions was gradually given to pregnant JWs, even though such would mean the death of their "fetuses".
See how such relate to the court cases that gradually legalized abortion. -

To those viewers who are actually "students" of the WatchTower Cult, I would recommend reading the Divorce Case Summaries from the 1940s and 1950s.
The instances of wives converting to the JWs, and then completely forgetting about their families, in order to preach the JWs' end-time message door-to-door, will give those who otherwise have no connection to the 1940s-50s the full sense that JWs felt they were in the final days of the final days as any point in the Cult's history. -

NOW ONLINE - PEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH - DEC 2006 MAG ARTICLE ON BLOOD
by West70 inthis has most likely already been posted, but i don't have the time or will to sort through past postings to verify.
given all the attention given to the canadian sextuplets tragedy, it won't hurt anything if this is a duplicate posting.
at any rate, the december 2006 issue of "pediatrics and child health" magazine contains anarticle entitled, "medical emergencies in childrenof orthodox jehovah's witness families", co-authored by juliet guichon, a medical bioethicist at the university of calgary.
