Did You Know what You Were Getting Into?
by Honesty inwe as jehovah's witnesses do not allow people to become baptized prior to gaining accurate knowledge of what we believe and teach according to the bible.
if someone wants to join with us in worship and become baptized, they must also demonstrate that they know what they are getting into.
that they agree with what we believe and teach.. .

I studied with an Elders wife. She told me a story of her and her husband seeing a brother smoking and he was disfellowshipped. I said oh because he didn't want to stop. She said yes. I said so if he said that he was really trying to quite and it was a moment of weakness then he wouldn't be disfellowshipped. She said oh no then he would not have been. My response should have been Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire. Of course at the time I believed her. At this point, I have now met numerous women and children abused and disfellowshipped while there abusers are climing the corporate latter. I try to be understand but I am mad at the lies lies lies.

Picture on book "You can live forever"
by Motema Bolingo ini remember that a few months ago, a member gave the reproduction of a publicity corresponding exactly to the picture of a nice swimming girl appearing in the "you can live forever ..." book.. this image is on my website (the first one on the page) :.
http://www.aggelia.be/subliminal4b.html.
would it be possible to put again this publicity on the forum ?.

If it was done legally then both the stern magazine and the watchtower purchased the same pictured repository. I work for a bio tech company, with images you have a few options. Hiring a graphic designer to give you unique graphics tends to be expensive so often picture respositories are purchased. These respositories are far less expensive but anyone that purchases the repository can use the images. We ran into an issue that a girl we were using on our homepage was showing up on hotmail on dating adds and then another one in a sex add in a magazine. There was nothing illegal, but we did change the images to avoid the association.

Let's have a parade and destroy Watchtowers!
by TresHappy inthe apostle wears a bulletproof vest when he's preaching in colombia, retains a battalion of 50 bodyguards across the united states and drives to his doral church headquarters in an armored seven series bmw.. followers say he's jesus.
detractors call him a cult leader.
and jose luis de jesus miranda -- a paunchy, middle-aged man from puerto rico who favors $10,000 rolexes and claims millions of disciples worldwide -- believes many people would like to see him dead.. it's no wonder the sect generates controversy.

Do u believe much of the JW teachings but not Gods Representative on earth?
by breeze in.
i wonder how many are still drawn to the beliefs but just don't believe the wtbts is jehovah's representative on earth and the only hope for mankind?.
of course we know some are not correct like 607 bc and 1914 and 1975 etc.. breeze

What if caffeine was banned for JWs?
by undercover ina post about caffeine and coffee in the "what if the wts banned alcohol" thread jogged my memory.... back in the 70s sometime (i can't remember if it was pre-75 or post-75) a rumor started circulating around our area that at the next convention the wts was going to add caffeine and caffeine products (coffee, coke, etc) to the list of banned substances (tobacco, blood).
of course, it never happened, but for a couple of months the rumors were hot and heavy.
the rumors were easily believed by a lot of the dubs because of the "up" effects caffeine can give you and besides, the mormons banned it, there had to be a reason.

They wouldn't ban it.
I gave up caffeine for a period of time and now only have it occasionally. I found that shockingly, I need more sleep and I am not rebounding off the walls all the time. If they banned coffee JW's might not be able to stay out till 10 o'clock on a weeknights or work 5 days a week and spend all weekend in field service or at the meetings. JW's are always running around. I remember asking my husband, why if the scripture say that Christian's should live peaceful and quiet lives. Why I couldn't seem to ever have either.

When I was studying I sent a letter asking for there official position on child abuse and spousal abuse. They sent two elders to my house to tell me that if a women can't prove she is abused then they will tell her to return to her husband. Thank God they sent the wolf to my door. Never went to a meeting again

Is it cancer? STOP! Don't talk about it.
by Tigerman ini visited my jw son and daughter - who were raised in the faith - in may.
my son is 37 years old, intelligent and is a hard worker and a good provider for his family.
we were having breakfast when my daughter-in-law mentioned the ' lump' on my sons back.
-

I had a lump on my back about the size of a golf ball. It was a fatty tissue tumor. A small outpatient procedure and it was done. I also had any suspicious moles removed while they were removing it. A Doctor is a good idea, I don't see how a growth will go away with herbs.

JH, do you live in the US. It is illegal to put something inside someone's mailbox. You can complain about this. My Church distributes literature and it has to be either (mailed with a stamp) or placed at the door or it can be hung on the mailbox flag in a plastic bag. You cannot open another persons mailbox and put something in it. I believe it is a federal offense.
