I did. Before the new announcement. I was announced as Disassociated almost 11 years ago. I never knew anyone who had done it before. I just knew I had to get out and I saw no other way to do it because up to that point I had followed the watchtower rules and led a clean life. No sex, No smoking, No drugs, No fun, No nothing. I wasn't a candidate for DF.

I tried talking to my mother about it before hand. I told her I didn't want to be a JW anymore and I didn't want to go to meetings. She ratted me out to the elders so I had no choice but to write the letter. My letter was 2 lines long. I didn't feel the need to explain my actions to them. They called and tried to talk to me but I refused to talk to them at all. They announced me at the next service meeting.

I am shunned by my family although they do at times feel the need to bring up going back. My aunt was preaching to me one time in a hospital as my mother was waiting to be admitted to be put in a nursing home. My little sister told her to stop. It wasn't proper for my aunt to talk to me about such things. My sister defended me. I talk to my sister from time to time. I talk to my aunts from time to time. I talk to my mother and my father all the time . My parents don't shun me.

I was a 4th generation JW and the first one to leave in a DA. I've had several member of my family DF ed but they always go back.

Wow reading this was like reading French. I never paid much attention to who was speaking or what they said. That is why I'm an apostate now.

Thank goodness your back. We need you to send us to our rooms when were bad!! I however have never been bad and sent to my room.

Did anyone in your congregation have "perfume allergies"?

over the years, in the congregations i have been in, there have been 4 different people with "perfume or cologne allergies.

anyway, they would always sit in the library, and at the bookstudy some years ago one sister would sit outside and comment through the window!

another sister would sometimes wear a white "surgical" mask in the hall.. the congregation i am attending now has a sister like that.

Yes my mother. I was not allowed to wear perfume at all as a kid. She suddenly developed these allergies after our cat had kittens and we had to get rid of them. Then it moved on to perfume and scented anything. Cigarettes and any kind of smoke set her off. She usually didn't have a problem until she saw the smoker or got up close and could smell the perfume. It all ended when she had her tonsils out at like 45. She used to wear masks to the KH. Not the cheap ones either. She had to have the kind for painting.

Turns out my mom has panic attacks and bipolar disorder. That's what cause her allergies. It was all in her head. The doctors never could find anything wrong with her. Her tonsils kind of gave her an out. At least she he acted like it was all about her tonsils. I know for a fact that if she didn't see a cigarette being smoked she couldn't smell it. Even if it was right behind her.

this year i owed money to the irs.

(the result of cashing in some investments so i could put a down-payment on my first house... i owed taxes on the "income").

i mailed off the check the other day and today i looked at my bank account online.

I got 1200 dollars back. Last year when all of you had your check the government sent out for the first stimulus plan I got nothing. I got to claim that this year. I got EIC. It paid for a new laptop for me.
