  That was from a TV show on late night at channel 8. Called Ghoulardi I think. Big Chuck and Little John's predecessor. They made jokes about Parma and white socks and pink flamingo's and those looking balls in peoples yards. My dad remembers that show. It was before my time but I know about it because it still used as a refrence to Parma. Parma has always been the butt of jokes in Cleveland for some reason. At the cab company I worked for Parma was known as Parmageddon.

  I liked Parma. It's a nice area.

  Thanks for the picture Paul. I do miss seeing Cleveland. Is that the bridge on w25 and columbus ave?? I hear those operator jobs are very hard to come by.

  That is exactly why I moved out. Cleveland sucks as far as the economy. I've run into a lot of people from Cleveland since I've moved and they all agree.

  remember when you were a kid and you saw the funny bits in shows about how someone hates their job and just goes to work to pay the bills.

  i think i've reached that point in my life.. i hate my job.. i used to love the work i do... but the way a corporation crushes your soul and leaves you as an empty husk of your former self has finally taken its toll on me.. i used to look forward to the challenges of work... now i wake up, go to work, do what i have to do to get through the day and then go home.. .

  it's totally absurd but i find myself literally fantasizing about winning the lottery so i can get my soul back..

  I don't have a job anymore, but when I did before I moved to another state in January, I hated my job. I was a cab driver for 5 1/2 years. Believe me it sucked. I'm happy to say I have some prospects coming up. I'll be happy with a job where I don't have to deal with the dregs of the world every night. Drunk people piss me off.

  I would love to have a job where I don't get emotionaly abused everytime I go to work. That is what cab driving is like.

  Getting teeagers to do chores is like hearding cats!!!

  i'm watching my teenage nephews while their mother is away at a funeral.

  i gave them chores to do last night that were to be completed today after school.

  i told them if they don't have them done by 7pm tonight they lose their cell phones and computers and all video games and tv privileges for the weekend.

I told them if they don't have them done by 7pm tonight they lose their cell phones and computers and all video games and TV privileges for the weekend. They would also not be allowed to do any after school sports or activities tomorrow.

  I gave them clearly defined expectations and time lines. I also gave them consequences for not doing the chores. I also lead by example by doing the dishes and cleaning the cat boxes. Time is almost up for the chores to be completed. They are working on them now. I'm done with mine until tomorrow morning when I have to take out the trash. I don't want mom to come home to a hot mess!!!

  Ron Cox had a
  massive heart attack & died last night 02/23/10, he was 48 years
  old. Ron is loved DEEPLY & will be sorely missed. His family &
  friends are in shock & mourning by his loss Sad. We LOVE you Ronny!!!

  He was only 48 years old. He had a massive heart attack. He was married to his wife since they were teenagers. He had no kids that I know about. His name was Ron Cox if anyone wants to look him up. Mdm Pele who is not allowed to post here found out through a post on his Facebook account.

  RIP Rooster!!! You are and will be forever missed!!

  My Uber-Dub sister is depressed !

  despite being in what she insisted to me was "the best way of life" my oldest sister has a bad case of depression.. i know on here, jwn, we tend to almost laugh at the number of dubs who suffer from depression, and blame the cult , which attitude may have a good deal of truth in it, i still feel that i would like to help her in some way and do not know for sure how to.. getting her out of the cult is not going to happen, and any lessening of her blind faith i feel would be dangerous for her.. can any of you good folk on here offer any advice.

  the trigger for her problem is the fact that her husband is seriously ill, and may not pull through, but i believe she must have an underlying problem that the present circumstance has brought to the surface.

  and she needs to be a positive support for him at this time, and cannot be.. here in the u.k the family doctor tends to prescribe some pills and see how you get on, if you don't top yourself, you can go back and he might try some more or different pills,beyond that not much is offered.. ideas?.

  I really can't give any advice but my little sister is also an uber dub and depressed. She has been on and off for years. She takes meds for it but they don't seem to help much. My mom is bipolar and been on meds for years also with no relief. I think they both like to wallow in their misery. They don't see and therapists or anything.
